I am at 13+ years and 555,800kms (335,000k) Original vp44,injectors,transmission ,differential, water pump, vac. power steering pump etc. etc. only replaced apps, alternator and starter on the engine. Doesnt use any oil between changes (6000k) fuel filter at 10,000k, still using carter lift pump (#5) Runs ,starts as good as new. Just replaced evaporator (leaking) and heater core (not leaking) On the truck replaced pads ,rotors, rear brake shoes ,rear drums. one set upper ball joints, lowers are original, original tie rod ends, second set of shocks. love the 2wd. best ride handling ,never neded 4x4. in all these years. Lot less troubles with 2wd.

We must own the only 2wd trucks in British Columbia LOL, there rare in my part of BC. I feel the same way about 2wd versus 4wd.

I just bought my 02 truck 2 years ago with 105,000 miles, I figured it was just broke in and have since made two 6000 mile trips to Arizona and one 12000 mile trip across US to Washington DC then up to Canadian Maritimes and then back home across Canada and US. I'm planning on several more circumnavigations of the continent, in the next few years. I bought my truck for the long haul and will keep it for 10 years min. .

If I didnt total this truck, (my bad) It would not be for sale EVER.

I did buy it back for parts. Also I did buy another 02' burg. just like it only a short box. Slowly but surely Im transfering my goods to the almost stocker.

Ya just gotta love these things !!!

I mean, hey its not like we dont have a great forum to find & work out the bugs. Oo.

Mine has 175607 and is going strong. Last year I had to do some front end work, ball joints,. From May of "98 to today it has been a great truck. I also like it better than the 3rd gens.

Bought mine in 1998 and it is better now than it was then. Over the 11 years i have replaced the Dodge parts with good after market parts. 200K miles and still going strong.

2001 long wheel base 2wd with 6 speed manual. 147,000 miles now. A/C is dead, replaced clutch at 130,000 (and flywheel). Heater temp control hasn't worked for a long time now. Replaced ball joints on left side and tie rods at 110,000 (had wheel balance problems too long evidently... ). I still have original lift pump and VP44.

Since replacing the clutch, I have problems with 3rd and 4th gear not synchronizing well (grinding if I upshift or downshift too fast). Maybe I should replace the fluids and overfill (as they say).

I had mentioned to a friend that I would like a truck with a Cummins engine, a Ford chassis, and a Chevy interior... oh well.

98. 5, 211000 miles, injection pump(not origional one) at 205000. Had Airdog, but it crapped out with 60,000 miles on it(they wouln not warranty it, so got a Fass). Cant keep up with the brakes on this thing, always replacing rotors, just did front calipers and rear shoes, now blew rear wheel cylinder! Always had to manually adjust rear brakes.

Just wanted to add a follow up. I have not been on since September and just wanted to let some who know me that I gave my 2001 Dodge dually to my son. Well not given it to him I put $1. 00 on the title when turning over to him and I picked up the $2. 00 charge for notary. So he owes me $3. 00 he needed desperately some reliable transportation. I am way into working on the Freightliner so in the long run will let my membership lapse. :)

I have recommended my son join however. This site has been awesome providing a lot of useful information and help I am soooooo grateful for sure. ;):)

You all be safe out there !!! Oo. :)

Since I bought my Freightliner and converting to tow my 5er my son is angling to get my Dodge so will stay in the family. I will probably wind up giving it to him like I have other vehicles I have owned. I wish my Dad had good vehicles like that and gave them to me. At least the Freightliner has a Cummin's just a little more IRON!!!

Hi Bob, I was wondering about you! Hope all is well. You can keep us posted on the big truck..... if it has an engine and tires I am all ears:)
