1999 with 156000 miles and going. The only problems so far have been lift pump around 130K replaced with the PF 100 Air Dog, replaced the NV4500 with one from Standard Transmission and Gear at 149K (Stupid fifth gear #@$%!), injectors at 153K replaced with Bosch RV275s and now a cracked exhaust manifold :{. Waiting on my new ATS 3 piece to come in (On back order at Geno's) and other improvements just because. The rest of the truck could have done a bit better as the bottoms of the doors are rusted out, the brake lines rusted out, the rear shackles rusted out… Do you see a theme here? The truck was in Wisconsin for 9 years. So bottom line is I will keep patching her skin up until the engine goes and who knows when that will be.

Oh, when I get the time I have all the parts to do the Sport Headlight upgrade.

I don't want to start a fight :-laf but I am amazed I still driving this truck after 10 years:)

I'm not amazed that my engine is still going strong after 10 years but am suprised that the rest of the truck has held up with relatively minor problems over that time.

I feel the same way. And not because it is a dodge. Im amazed that any model of truck would be in the condition mine is after almost 10 years. However, I do take care of it, keep it washed and waxed, only have about 90k on it, don't treat it like an army jeep, dont abuse it, etc. But still, it is in great shape. I even have people come up to me and say "nice truck".

Mine had 252K on it. Did have VP 44 issues early on (86K, 115K) Dodge paid for one. DTT stuff 125K after bombing truck. Just this year had to change out a/c compressor, but just normal stuff really. Been please with its pulling power.

I am at 13+ years and 555,800kms (335,000k) Original vp44,injectors,transmission ,differential, water pump, vac. power steering pump etc. etc. only replaced apps, alternator and starter on the engine. Doesnt use any oil between changes (6000k) fuel filter at 10,000k, still using carter lift pump (#5) Runs ,starts as good as new. Just replaced evaporator (leaking) and heater core (not leaking) On the truck replaced pads ,rotors, rear brake shoes ,rear drums. one set upper ball joints, lowers are original, original tie rod ends, second set of shocks. love the 2wd. best ride handling ,never neded 4x4. in all these years. Lot less troubles with 2wd.

1999 133000 miles lots of nickle and dimeing still love the truck, 7 or so lift pumps.

just bought a 2007 duramax classic as a second vehicle many good points to the duramax but I still love the Dodge. I will keep it for a very long time

Bought my 99 in 5/01 w/75k, sitting around 195k now. It's a little crusty around the edges, but we are driving Cummin's with a Dodge wrapped around it . . .

Close to 240k on my 2001. 5 and still going strong. Really love the truck and don't have plans to sell it any time soon! :)

Soon to be member of the 100,000 mile club! I don't have any plans to get rid of this truck. It is just too much fun to drive. :D

Were all 7 pumps stock or after market? My stock pump went well over 100K and the Airdog now has at least 30K on it.

I bought this truck 5 years before I retired and figured it would be my last one. It sits outside year round and get washed about once a month. Thing is it still looks good with lots of gloss when it's cleaned and has been mostly trouble free. I do all the maintainance and so far replaced a couple of lift pumps, alternator brushes. The power steering pump went south with around 50k miles and I replaced the torque converter/valve body as a proactive measure since I tow a 12. 5k lb fifthwheel.

Last week the evaporator core was found to be leaking and is being replaced now and with this fixed I'm looking forward to the next 150k miles.

Luv my 2001 truck, bought it cause it was the last of it's body style, had a 94 gas burner and when the wife asked me if a diesel would pull our 5th wheel better I jumped on it.

2001, 5. 9, 138,000 miles and still going strong. Stock except for edge EZ.

My 99 has 263k on it. Replaced one VP44, three lift pumps, added an ATS transmission late last year. Other than a couple of sensors and the regular things that wear out its been an excellent truck. Plan on hanging on to it for a long time to come.

I took delivery of my truck in March of 2001, 1st truck I have ordered. I now have 109000 on it. The only real problem I have had was the lift pump which I replaced with a FASS 150 & the injector pump. Other than that its been normal wear and tear. Pulls & hauls better than the day I drove it off the lot plus it get 22 - 23 mpg.

My 01 has 188,000 and runs great. Bought it with 156,000 in 04. Put the FASS 150 on it because the stock pump was getting weak. I love the way it tows. Plan on keeping it till I can't drive.

The body is doing great also. Paint still looks good.

The blend valve motor to the hot/cold control went south. I cut a hole under the valve/door that directs the air and added a manual control to it so I wouldn't have to disassemble the dash and pay for replacement parts. Works good.

K brennan yes all stock lift pumps I dont really know what it is with the stock lift pumps??? but i always carry 2 spares and i continue to use them because i find one at any autoparts store and can change one out in 10 mins. I have relocated it to the frame rail and my last up grade has been a relay directly from the battery we will see.

have a great day

The only reason I can see to ever buy a new truck is IF you have grown tired of the style you have now.

MY 98. 5 24V runs better today than when it was new. It is stronger, and more reliable than it was then.

With only 136,000 on it, the engine is still not broken in. Never uses any oil, just expensive dino stuff in the tank :)

A/C is colder today than it ever has been in its' life. Finally got a really good scold on evacuating the system completely and then did a critical refill on the freon/oil. Wonders!!!

Momma says I "just hafta" fix the crack in the right rear dually fender... . someone who will never, ever, get the keys to my truck busted it on a mailbox. :(

In fact, no one but me, will ever drive it again (for as long as I can drive).....
