Well I,m half way thru my trip, we arrived in Vegas yesterday!!An interesting trip so far. Just before we left Cordova, I installed new Dakota Digital fuel pressure gauges, pre and post filter. Good timing on my part!!! I had just fueled in Fort Nelson,B. C. and was headed out of town and my gauges both started flashing a warning ( 2 psi) at cruise. I pulled over and added a bunch of Power Service. I thought maybe I had picked up a load of water or maybe it was gelling. (-5 F) I was able to buy a new lift pump in Fort ST John at Cummins. The pressure was changing constantly ( a low of 5lb at cruise to a high of 8 lb at cruise , a steady 10 lb at idle) The day I arrived at Pier's in Abbottsford the pump gave up the ghost, down to 2lbs at cruise and 4lbs at idle. After the new pump was installed I get 14 to 15 psi at idle, 12psi at cruise and a minimum of 10 to 11psi at 20lbs boost. I wonder how long it was on the decline???
I can't say enough good about Piers and his crew, Louise and Al. Great people, very good at what they do. They put up with me and my little dog!!( Ruger the Rottweiler) and treated us like family.
The new Southbend clutch works great!!!!!
Al is working on a rear disc brake conversion that sounded real interesting!!! Maybe next trip!!!
