Well i just put a new stock electric fuel pump on my 24 valve truck.
So I set the old one up in a engine lathe and cut it apart, pulled every thing apart,a low and behold, the brushes were 1/3 gone at 60,000 miles not bad,the pump was clean as a pen,now when i pulled the armature out of the housing ,i found 2 small capacitors broken off, of the main board in the bottom of the pump, one was still in the bottom area, the other one was stuck in the check valve,So this may be some of our problems, the vane pump was in perfect shape,Hope this helps!
