I have a 95 stnd cab, 12v 4x4 auto and I'm thinking of buying a 2000 quad cab 4x4 auto, 3. 54.

My question(s) are:

Do all (stock) 24v have a hesitation till boost build up before they start to "move out"? I've driven a few and they all seem to do this compared to the 12v motors. Does a box cure this like turning out the star wheel does on the 12v's?

Are 2000's 235HP or 215HP?

Am I going to be replacing boost pumps at every fuel filter change? This truck appears to have been stock, does that matter for boost pump longevity.

Needless to say I really like my 12v but am some what, for lack of better terms, forced to go to a 24v for the quad cab.

Any former 12v drivers out there glad they made the switch?

Thank you for any feed back.

Breck,

The 2000 ETC (no High output motor) is rated for 235HP.

I believe the 12V motor puts out max torque at 1500 to 1600 RPM. 24V motor has max torque at 1800 RPM. In stock form, the 24V will not start to really pull until you're at 2000 RPM (2000 ETC motor).

If you put an aftermarket fueling/timing box such as the Power Edge EZ, it will advance the timing and will give you more low end grunt. Adding some injectors will produce bigger smiles.

My 2000 truck with PE Ez and DD2 injectors yielded 305 HP at the rear wheels at the last dyno.

I've seen many posts of guys going from a 12V to 24V and complain about lack of torque because the torque is totally different.

My 2 pesos. .

I Owned two 12v's before this truck and "I think" that this 24V is WAY BETTER then my other 12v's. The second I test drove this truck I instantly wanted it over my old truck. And I did :D I didnt even wait to sell the 12V, I got it sold about 4 months later. Had two truck payments

manual transmission is rated for 235 HP. Auto is 215 HP.

Only reason I said that was he specifically stated he was looking at a 2000 Auto truck.

Thank you guys for the info... . I was busy the last few days, so I couldn't check.

I'm glad to hear that with some bombing it will feel a little bit more like the 12v down low. (That is my favorite part about the 12v's compared to everything else)

An ez + dd2's = 305rwhp??? That is about where my 12v is at; I can live with that!

:D
