USE TO OWN A 94 CTD 5 SPEED. SOLD WHEN I GOT MS ABOUT 9 MONTH AGO BOUGHT A POWERJOKE 99 AUTO. CANT STAND IT ABOUT TO COME BACK TO THE OTHER SIDE. JUST A THOUGHT HERE DON'T WANT TO STIRR A STINK HOW HARD WOULD IT BE TO PUT A 12V 94 TO 98 P7100 IN A NEWER 24 VALVE TRUCK I DON'T LIKE THE 24 BECAUSE OF THE VP PROBLEMS LIKE THE MECHANICAL INJECTION. MY THOUGHTS WOULD BE TO SWAP AND THEN SELL THE 24 TO COST NEARLY NOTHING. I JUST COULDN'T STAND SPENDING $1000 DOLLARS BY THE TIME YOU FASS AND BOX THE TRUCK TO STILL WORY ABOUT THE VP DIEING. CAN ALL THE SENSORS BE SWAPED BACK TO THE 12 FROM THE 24 AND SO FORTH IS WHAT INFO IM AFTER. LIKE I SAY ALL JUST A THOUGHT. WILL BE A FIVE SPEED TRUCK. I SEEN ONE ON EBAY AM CURIOUS WHATS INVOLVED ILL THROW THE CHECK ENGINE BULB AWAY.

It has been done. A guy on another forum put a 12 valve in a '99 so that it looks stock. If I can find who it was I'll PM you how to get hold of him.

Thasnks Joe Not Doing It Right Now Might Not Ever Just Wanted The Option Figured Everything Would And Keep The 24v Vacuum Pump And Will Have To Do A Little Wiring On The Fuel Shut Off Silenoid. But I Hoped All The Sensorsthat Work The Gauges Would Be Able To Plug And Play Would Just Be Neat Too. Like I Said I Seen One On Ebay About 3 Or 4 Months Ago Looked Good.

I looked but could not find the guy with the 12 valve in his '99. He had posted a picture of it and it sure looked ok. Apparently, everything that does not involve the fuel system works fine.

That would be me! lots of work but can be done! Probably a lot less work to put it into a 98. 5 to 2002 body style. or just find a 98 quad quad and then you have what you want!! hahaha but hard to come by!

P-Pumping a 24V is major money and work, from what I was told on here a year or so ago, and not worth it unless you're going to be pulling or racing. Honestly, the real factor with the VP pump failure is the lift pump failing, which starves the IP. If you put a pressure gauge on the line from the LP to the IP, you'll catch it (the LP) failing before it causes IP failure, and the IP will generally not fail as a result. That's just my regurg of what I've read on here over the last couple of years.

p-pumping a 24 valve any one know what it cost. last time i remember looking on schied the kit was 1800 minus the pump and getting it built for the 24 valve fuel syatem and they also said there was a few other things you would need depending on your year. this is all before the labor. wiould be alright if you considered 2 vp pumps i guess. my thoughts was buy a good 12 valve install yourself sell your 24 should pay for the 12 now only out time. no 500 box to buy and 600 fass pump only a 150 plate. and a little wrenching????? was my thoughts about it. only problem i got now is found a jewel i think, 01 reg cab 4x4 6-speed HO new vp 200k looks great in the pictures going to look in the morning may have to fass here its a HO didn't plan on finding one of these. :)

yeah if you know anyone that knows how to wire a 12 valve harness with a 24 valve harness let me know cause i got a 12 valve motor that im swapping in a 2002 dodge truck. just wanting to know if everything will hook up. just email me or send me a message. thanks!

I put a 12v in my 98 24v really easy if you have a stock harness out of the donor truck your using remove the harness under the dash that goes outside to the engine and replace it with the 12v harness. use the 12v computer on the firewall and your ready to go. No wirein no nothin plug in and go

Odieub, I don't know where you are located, but if you have to have emissions inspections in your area, you run the risk of getting nailed for not having the engine the truck was EPA certified with if you put an older engine in a newer vehicle. Hopefully you are far from any of these regions, but it is just something to consider.
