255/85/16's performance in sand?

I am needing some new tires and am thinking of switching from 285's to 255's. Does anybody have 255/85's and know they run in the sand? Thanks, Jason

I would imagine the 255's will not be as good in the sand as the 285's. The 255 being narrower will give you less floatation.
