Anyone running these on a 3rd gen DRW without spacers?. If so, Id like to see some pics. Especially a close up shot of the rears and the amount of clearence between.

Thanks

It's always best to keep the stock size tires on a dually.

Thanks George, It was a long shot I know. Been seeing allot of duallies lately with some nice looking tires on. But I agree, the 235/80's is what ill go with.

255/80-17 bfg mud terrains. About a 33x9. 50. Look good, nice highway manners, e- rated and no spacers, What else could you ask for? Only one problem, they're a little expensive.

No spacers?. Care to take a pic of the rear?. Im dying to see the clearence (between the duals)!. Are you running different rims with a more aggressive offset. They cant be the stock wheels.

Update: I checked them out on the BFG website, those are nice meats, however the RWL shot em down due to rotations issues. The specs lend me to believe they probably would work.

I have a set of 4 Chrome steel wheels with fairly new ( 5740 miles) Discount Tire branded 265/17R70E tires for sale. I have purchased four 19. 5" Ricksons with tires. Need them to carry my new truck camper. I also put on new Stable Loads.

macdaddy-

I am running with 265s on my dually in fact this is my second set of 265s!! The first set lasted me 48k miles!!! I researched this size a ton in fact Discount Tire said it wouldnt fit but to my surprise and theirs they fit perfectly. ;-) NOTE: I pull a 1987 Avion 34ft triple axle and never had an issue with the side-walls touching. When hitched I have about 1/2 inch clearance between the two tires. My tire pressure is 65 in the front and 55 in the back. Anything higher than 55 in the back will make the truck ride like a "covered wagon". The tires I am running are the BFG rugged trail which is a little less aggressive than the BFG KO AT's. When I first started researching I noticed some brand of tires had less space between the rear tires than others (I tested) so make sure and find a tire that doesnt have a "beefy" side wall. Seriously I am 110% pleased with this tire size and have had no issues what so ever. If you decide to try them out you will need to rotate a little more often to keep the tires from "cupping" on the sides but again I was able to get 48k out of mine and pull more than the average Joe.

I will try and get some pictures loaded up this weekend so you can what it looks like. Ping me if you have any more questions.

SB thanks for writing back. I ended just going with some GoodYears SRA 235/80-17's. There a significant improvement over the Firestone Transforse.

I am on my second set of Cooper SST 265 70 17 on my dually with no spacers and have had no problems. With my GN loaded have about 1/4" between duals at 60 psi.

50,000 miles out of my Transforce AT's. Now running Bridgestone Duravis R500's. Based on current wear (they have 12,000 miles on them), I'll get 50-60k miles out of these.

I orignally had the GY GSA's, but they all had severe sidewall checking by 35,000 miles.
