hsmith,

I thought that TDR rally was a great event. I have often wished someone would set a date and advertise another one. I'd be among the first to pay my registation fees and attend. A second one was held that I attended a year or so later and then another one that I missed. I think interest dwindled after that.

The greatest one in my experience with TDR was held in summer of 2002 just before the Gen III trucks and HPCR engine were released. The event was arranged and coordinated by Robert and Robin Patton working with Cummins MREP in Columbus, IN. It was a great experience. I wish we could have one every year but events like that requirea a lot of money to be spent, a tremendous amount of work has to be done, and vendors have to travel long distances at great expense. Oh well.

I currently have stage 2 (80hp) Edge injectors. If I had it to do again, I would have gone with RV275s or Edge stage 1s for sure. I don't like the smoke and heat I got from my stage 2s. There was a power increase for sure, but it wasn't really what I expected. I think I would have liked a Smarty a lot more... but of course it's a lot more coin. I got slightly more MPG during normal driving and a fair amount less MPG towing with the stage 2s.

I liked the EZ and 275s a lot but like the Smarty with 275s a lot better. I had to tinker with the settings a bit to minimize the smoke but the power curve is tons smoother with the Smarty especially in city traffic with a load. Its probably not as noticeable with an automatic. With the EZ you get a lag and a lurch with every shift. With the Smarty you get smooth acceleration between shifts.

It should be able to. Your not looking at a big increase only 30 to 40 hp. The other thing is the driver. If you keep your foot out of it it will be fine but the power is there when you need it. It also gives a 1 MPG gain. I just ran my first trip with the new injectors and I am happy with them. Power was a bit smoother and came on quicker. I may make a change to the turbo next year. Nothing over the top, closer to stock with better low end response. My bif push is for efficientcy with a slight power gain.

Are these rv275 injectors marked as such or how do you determine what you have? My injectors in my detroit come with tags wired to them.

i did some searching and calling and the best deal i could find was Peak Diesel Performance Inc. (604 532 5700) set of 6 Bosch RV275's shipped to my door was $327 NO core charge.

installed the 275's today, took me 1 hr 50 mins. very easy straight forward job. big difference in the before and after. with the edge comp set on 5x anything it smokes pretty bad if i put my foot into it.

got my new dunrite valve body and convertor installed a couple weeks ago and that made a huge difference too.

done Bombing now

thanks for the graph. mine might be putting out more power and torque than i though. i was figuring factory hp rating 235-20% drivetrain loss=188 to the wheels then add 40hp for the rv275's edge comp 100hp = 328hp to the wheels and i was guessing torque around 600ft lbs.
