2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 2nd gen 2500 suspension lifts. Max?

Are there 4 or 6 inch lifts available for 98-02 2500's? I looked online at all the big names and don't see anything except 2 and 3" (maybe if your truck set right from the factory).



Personally I've seen some pretty tall 2nd gen trucks before on the road. So there has to be some kits available. Do these trucks not do well with 6" lifts as far as geometry is concerned?

Oh yeah they exist. But it's cheap, "look at me", mall terrain crap. 2-3 inches of functional lift (no spacer, pucks, blocks, etc. ) is really all the lift needed. IMO any more and the height is too much to be useful unless your bogging or crawling.

Skyjacker makes a 6" lift. I am unaware of the quality or performance. Kore now makes, I think, a 3" progressive sprink kit. I have heard good things about there 3rd generation "suspention" kits. MUCHO $$$ I went with a 2. 5" spacer style leveling kit and edelbrock shocks. I am happy with the ride. With a small amount of "persuasion" on the lower rear fender, I am able to fit 35x12. 5 inch mudders. It will rub a little when the wheel is cut and I hit a bump. Time for a bigger hammer LOL. Please let us know what route you decide to take, and the results of your decision.



PS. I believe skyjacker lift kits come with their twin tube shocks. Mono tube shocks are higher quality and will last 5 to 10 times longer than twin tube shocks. when I say mono tube shock, mean how the shock opperates not the number of shocks. You can't tell the difference by looking at them. It is the way the shock internals opperate. It can get confusing. Hope this helps. Good luck.

On the Friday before the Scheid show this year... I spotted a 2nd gen 3500 dually that had 19. 5 wheels and typical sized tires for those rims. However it had about a 14" lift. I couldnt quite tell (I was in a restaurant looking out) how it was built. While radical... the thing was wild looking in a good sort of way. Plain white, regular cab and 6" black straight stacks. One heck of a turbo whistle too. Manual shift. Not for me... but nonetheless it was radical. Kinda reminded me of the Kelderman air ride truck I saw at Muncie several years ago.
