Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) stumble and shuddering

I have a 2002 ctd 5sp. 4x4. Sometimes while driving at a constant speed or under a heavy load it is almost like someone flips a switch and i lose all power and ability to build boost. When this happens i have to push in the clutch and let the engine idle for a second or two and all is back to normal. I have boost, pyro, and fuel pressure guages all reading normal when this occurs. Also no boost or fuel leaks. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

My truck pulled that stunt this winter. I did a search on here lots of stuff. I started with cleaning all all all the grounds on the truck under the hood, both batteries engine block and body grounds.

That did it,I got lucky. My symptoms were about the same, driving about 50-60mph and the 1st time it happened i thought my foot slipped off the go pedel. Than it did it several times after that it would just like quit for a heart beat, and take right off like nothing happened. I also cleaned the iat and the map sensor. good luck Dirk

Sounds as if the off-idle quites. That is the reason that you have to let the engine idle and then resume the ecm needs to see a change the states in the Idle off-idle switches.
