I would like to have a transmission that you have made, Flattracker, in my truck as I believe it would be good. I too have talked to several folks who have bought a master overhaul kit and a few others parts, from DTT and built there own transmission. Jimkflattracker said:Obiviosly Fred you think false information is fine as long as it is presented nicely personally I don't just a difference of opinion I guess. Second the man directly stated he wanted alternatives to a full built transmission I know the full built is your bread and butter but that was not what he was asking. Thirdly the parts were not pirated from a DTT built transmission they were pirated from a flattracker built transmission using some DTT parts. When I buy a part and pay retail I figure it is pretty much mine to do with as I please if I decide to make a yard ornament out of it thats my right too, selling it to someone else with an implied warranty from DTT would be wrong but that is not the case here. Fred all of your post questioning my motives started when I posted my experiences with a TCS convertor what a coincidence. Lastly if you have a problem with the statement about the overdrive thrust plate needing checked because they are always wrong from the factory that came directly from BILL KONDILAY two years ago in a conversation he and I had if you have a problem with it take it up with him, regardless it needs to be checked if it is right you reuse the same thrust plate if not replace with the proper thickness. If that is as close as you can come to discrediting my veracity I'm sorry but your desperation is showing.
flattracker said:Your right that I was probably too harsh in calling his post crap it just severly irritates me when so called experts post things as fact when it was clearly obvious he didn't even have a rudimentary understanding of how the oil pressure gauge system on these trucks works. And then his comment that he had forgotten more than I will ever know about cummins just added fuel to the fire. Unless his hair is white I was working on and modifying cummins engines before he was born. Kennedy was president when I added a turbo to my first 220.
flattracker said:SNOKING go back and read the post YNOT said absolutely nothing about any reflash, he said the computer generated the false readings based on temperature and rpm this is absolutely false. He states the gauge always reads 40to 45 lbs. going down the road because dodge believes thats what you want to see , also false . It reads that because that is the oil pressure maintained by the bypass spring . As for the reflash that turns the gauge into an idiot light could you post the TSB # for said reflash. Thanks in advance for the #.
