Today is my last working day as I enter retirement again. I initially retired last June and we spent the summer cruising on our boat. In early October I started a 6 month contract engineering gig. Now that the weather is warming up here in New England and the coffers are refilled it's time to start getting the boat ready for another summer on the water.

I was told to call back again in the fall so hopefully they'll need my services again for the winter. It's been kind of fun working short term and not have to worry about politics, raises, promotions, all that crappy career stuff we all hate. Especially since I worked for these folks in the past (for 28 years) and many have been friends for a long time.

But it will be more fun being free again for the summer.

Cheers!

Heading back into Canada, but this time via Lake Champlain and we'll spend time in the Rideau Canal (Ottawa) and Thousand Islands. We might check out the western Erie and Finger lakes, but I have to measure the boat's height precisely to see if I can make it under a 15. 5 ft bridge. I'm close to that.

Jay, I missed you when you came thru last summer. If you get back this way let me know and I'll bring some cold ones and we can swap lies. ;)

I am doing the opposite, take the winter off and head to Arizona for the winter. I start back tomorrow morning in the patch. You are right it is nice to have the free time and also the chance to make a few bucks. I really enjoy my summer job driving semi. Have a good summer!
