Has anyone used Bilsteins OEM replacement shocks on a 2wd Cummins? How do they work? They list them as the same part number for 2wd half tons as for a 3/4 ton diesel. I would guess the physical dimensions could be the same, but I would think the dampening requirements would be substantially different between these applications. Are there any shocks out there that are specifically designed for 2wd Dodge pickups with a Cummins?

The Bilstein reputation is awesome. Today's technology in shocks makes them very adaptable to a wide range of conditions.

That said, nearly 3 years ago I went with KYB Gas-a-Just due to prior experience on other vehicles. They are leaps above factory slops. Since that time KYB is now offering a shock labled Mono-Max. I would love to compare all three, but ... .

Put it this way, the Bilsteins on my 98 with over 50K miles on them still felt better then the brand new shocks on my 2002!

I can't wait until I get to put a new pair on my 2002.

I just ordered front and rear Bilsteins from Offroadwarehouse.com. Shipped to my door they were about $230. I mentioned that I was a TDR member (on their website), but didn't see any discount. It might show up when I get billed, we'll see.

If you have the IFS front on your truck, they are the same shocks.

If you have a local Auto Zone, you can get them at the same price or less. Same thing though, make sure you specify Heavy Duty, and boy the made my truck ride like a whole different truck. Two thumbs up:D
