O. K. so go on vaccation and towing my jeep and flatbed @ around 6,000# to Moab Ut. and the truck runs like a champ! At 140,000 on the original trans, motor and rear it just amazes me. But I have to admit in Vernal Ut. near the dinosaur bone quarry the water pump took a crap. Bearing went out lost the belt and all the coolant. Called NAPA (I know but it died right in front of a Caterpiller dealer they did not stock cummins stuff otherwise I would have put a new cummins pump in) bought a brand new pump for $59 and more coolant and a new belt they delivered it to the parking lot where the truck died and about 30 minutes later I was hauling butt down the road agian. Did I mention that I went through Berthou Pass at 11,700 ft on highway 40 by winter park and out pulled everything in sight(after traveling that far that is the steepest hill encountered). Did I also mention the Duraturd that I passed like he was stopped was towing a small fiver and could not overcome the 60mph head wind that I was doing 75 against? Did I mention that I love my truck?

Dfeland, don't ya love it!Oo. Oo. Oo.

My wife says I smirk everytime I pass a Ford on a hill and we are both pulling trailers. Come to think of it, I guess it could be called a smirk!

Hey Dfeland!:)

I just drove over Berthou Pass on Sunday when I was out in Colorado buying a new camper/topper from "jjohn"..... I didn't see any dead DuraMax carcasses on the side of the Pass! :):D:)

Great Weekend.....

Oh well you should have looked a little closer. You must have seen the guys HUGE EYE BALLS as I passed him. :--) :--) :D Is that just not beautiful through there?????

Hey Deland!

Sounds like an awesome trip! I was just thinking that as shiny & new as all of those Duramax's are that they would show up real good as carcasses. I was amazed at the number on new D-max's I saw over the weekend journey of 2500 miles. I only saw 3 other First Generations... . one prestine pulling a 'fiver' w/ a elderly lady driving. I just smiled & waved! Too Cool! Not sure if she's a TDR'er... . I didn't have a opportunity to try to "convert" them!:)

The mountains were incredible w/ the new snow that they rec'd last Friday. When did you come through?

Happy travels!

It would have been the 20th, of May. What did you think of all the construction they were doing to the side of that road. I was thinking you are not getting my narrow white a** to hang off the side of that wall like some of them were doing. Apperently they have had a problem with cars going off the side?
