honestly i like setups that give me options. i'd likely take out the grid at some point in the 07 but if i move somewhere cold i'd probably put it back in. my choice would be to buy the spacer and air horn so to give me all the options and save a few bucks over 2 air horns. unless they're going to be cheap.....

i'm sure both versions would sell though.

and frankly money for 2 versions of air horns doesn't even scratch the surface of the silly spending i practice on these durn trucks even if they are not cheap.

has anyone tried to do better with the intake plate with the 2nd gen that doesn't involve new inj. lines? seems the plenum thing has been done, and the dyno says their all close, so lets look at the next step, before machining the head. I have one mildly modified, if that is something you can/would like to test.

I would opt for the heater spacer type of unit also . . snow area guys need that dern thing at times :(

I sent ya an e-mail expressing interest

BTW have you seen Adam Winslet's heater grid spacer / replacer ? [sells them on e-bay and at the shop in Martinez Ca

A grid eliminator block that would go from round of the intake tube to the square of the intake manifold would be a perfect match.

Then it would be a matched pair. I definitely would rather have a correctly matched grid eliminator block, than just something that has the same dimensions as the grid block without the grids. I'm going to be purchasing a grid eliminator block anyway, so why not get the matched pair?

Frank Noble has a head and intake combo that address the limited flow to the first , fifth and sixth cyclinder, he showed me the setup and it makes sense.

We all know that the intake can me machined off the head and replaced. I'm talking about JUST the intake plate itself. I've modified mine as much as possible with the factory plate, but there is room for improvement if there were more material to work with. The inlet from the intake plate to the head is a real choke point and little has been done to address this. Also it isnt a large or overly complicated part. ;)

Sorry I have taking so long with this, I have been very sick and haven't been able to work a full day going on 2 weeks now. I am going to try my first day back tomorrow.

Just an update the flange will be 1/2 inch and the places for the boost etc. will be drilled and tapped on an angle in the back side of the flange. Looks much cleaner than having them up high.

Glad you're feeling better. I called last week to talk to you, and ended up having to talk to Bill instead!
