315/75R16 tires

Hey, all:



I'm thinking about the new BF Goodrich A/T's. Anyone running 315/75's on a stock 2500 QC 4X4? I know the 295's will fit with no problems but I want as tall as I can get with no (minimal) rubbing.



What are my almost new Michelin 265/75's worth? TIA, dp

315/75/16

on most cases you will need to raise the front with a leveling kit at least 2" for proper clearance for the 315/75/16. You may even experience slight rubbing on the control arms but only when making hard parking lot type turns. Shouldn't be a major problem. . I run goodyear Wrangler MT's 315/75/16.

I run 315s on the stock alum rims on my '00 2500. The tires do rub the control arms before full steering lock. Otherwise no problems. I do not use this truck off road so I haven't run into any problems with hitting the fenders.

I ruled these out for my application since they're 32. 8" tall v. 33. 3 for the 295/75's. I do like the width (12") though. Thanks for the input.

I've got basically the same setup as NVR FNSH-and I can report the same conclusions. They do rub the upper control arms under hard turning-but nowhere else. My truck is a Sport-not sure if the bumper edge is located similarly to the regular trucks. But I do have Putco stainless steel running boards-and the tires clear them too (although only by a whisker ).



I went from the stock 265 Michelins up to 285 Sport Kings first-and then from there to 315 Wild Spirit DTX's. Jury's still out on how the 315's have affected my mileage-but I do like the extra ground clearance they give

Look for a tire with a high second number,, maybe you coud try for a 295/80/16 (if they exsist) or try for a 285/90/16



The higher the second number is (numbers in bold) the taller the tire will be. That's why, the 305/70/16 tire is actually shorter than the 295/75/16



The 305/70 tire has 305 x . 70= 213. 5 millimeters of sidewall.

The 295/75 tire has 295 x . 75= 221. 25 millimeters of sidewall.



Hope this helps the tire search in metric sizes.

P. S. a 275/80 tire would have 228 millimeters of sidewall, and a 315/75 tire would have 236. 25 millimeters of sidewall, thus, the 315 tire would be only 8. 25 millimeters taller than the 275/80 tire. BTW the 275 tire is 40 millimeters skinnier than the 315, which could make the difference between rubbing, and not rubbing.

What pics are you looking for? Tread pattern &/or how well it fits the wheel well? I can take pics tonight and post in the morning.



The tread pattern is very similar to BFG All Terrains.
