Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel

GM & Daimler-Chrysler in the same camp??

Those guys have had more problems with those 05 Fords than I have had in 159,000 miles. My transmission was still working fine at 154,000 when I upgraded.

"After a new turbo , mine is awesome with 1350 miles"

"My friend has 5k miles on his '05 king ranch. Some noise from front axle in 4wd and a groan in the steering are the only problems so far. Averaged abotu 8 mpg towing and 13-14 mpg highway so far"

I keep looking for that... After a dozen buy backs, I finally got the best peacup I have ever owned.

I had 53k on my Cummins with the 53 block until it decided to start watering the highway and truck under body with antifreeze. Chrysler would not even talk to me and it has been a well known problem for years. They did not offer to buy it back (as Ford did with some of their trucks). Cummins helped with repair more than Dodge. GM's had leaky injectors and extended the warranty on those vehicles involved. It appears to me that some companies will at least stand behind their product to some extent, except Chrysler. Just for the record I have owned Chrysler vehicles exclusively since 1972. I am not to sure about the next one. Hopefully I will have a few years with the 56 block to decide. I guess what I am trying to say is do not be to hard on Ford, Chevrolet or any manufacturer without looking at your own as Chrysler left alot of 99-01 53 owners holding the bag.

I like the original poster's "Let's hear more SUCCESS stories on these 2005's"

Success? I guess 35 miles is success for some owners, since most don't make it off the lot!

Everytime I hear about the low miles these happy 6. 0 owners have, I try to think of it being proportional-wise. If a Cummins makes it to 500,000 miles, then 250,000 miles is a success!

If a typical 6. 0 makes it to 50,000 miles, then yes, the measely 25,000 miles is a great success!

I just re-read the whole post. They are so stupidly brand loyal. 2900 miles on one guy's truck, a CAC tube leak, and a front hub problem already, and low mileage. Other than THAT he is all smiles!?!?! It seems like the guys with problems are happier than the guy's without! Are they brainwashed? Is that sickly annoying sound of the 6. 0 some sort of Ford brain washing experiment!?

Should I go start a thread asking how many buybacks these 6. 0 owners will go through before they buy a Dodge? Some guys are on their 3rd truck. That is so sad its funny.

I don't feel sorry for these guys having problems. If they are too blind to know they have blinders on, or too dumb to research, well they deserve it.

Nick

Oh yeah, and this from the ""Trolling" Definition and Rule Clarification" post from the site owner, Jason:

"It is also not okay for owners of other brand trucks/diesels to post in here all the time about what "junk" Ford is producing. Each of the major three brands have their own problems. Telling a user having a problem that they should have bought your favorite brand instead does nothing but create problems and doesn't help that user with their problem at all. "

Yeah, you know why it's Dodge guys over there telling 6. 0 owners the 6. 0s are junk? Because they are! How many Ford guys are over here telling us the Cummins is junk? None, because it isn't! And even if there were, the administrators here would not care, because it's an opinion! But Jason and his henchmen delete, or lock, the post, sometimes without explanation. Why? BECAUSE THEY CAN'T HANDLE (and don't like) THE TRUTH! Big babies!

99 and no warranty? 53k is under the 100k warranty. Definitely a manufacturer defect under warranty case. Hell theyve fixed some past 100k as long as its close. Mustve been cause it was modded. Its a risk all take when the mod their trucks. Ford chevy and dodge alike. Although. Some dealers will look the other way. If you shop around.

David,

Same thing happened with a Ford product I owned. It had the 60,000 mile extended drivetrain warranty. transmission went south on me at 59,990. Still driveable, called selling dealer, told me drive it in. I explained the mileage situation, told me they would take care of it. Yea, they took care of it. Told me $3500. 00 to fix, I was out of warranty due to mileage. Last Ford I ever owned, and I knew these guys. They all pull crap like this, not just Chrysler.

Mike

Dec. 6th will be a sad day but a milestone as my 5yr 100,000 warranty runs out due to time not mileage but im close, i figure i will be pushing 96-97000 in the next 3 days, i think i have used that warranty to the max.

It will be nice to see her roll up 100,000 im going to take a picture, just hope i can drive and photo click at the same time... . nah im kidding i will pull over... :-laf

I think i have my warranty thinking right, bought truck dec 6th '99 and dec 6th '04 is 5 yrs unless im more tired than i think right now, sorry worked 12hrs last nite... :--)

Some of the new Dodges with the ISB's in them are having enough problems for me not to want to own one. I'll stick with my 1st gen with the VE pump and junk wetrag trans. Just because these poor unfortunate missinformed brand loyal soles are bragging about 35 trouble free miles on their trucks dosen't mean you have to pick on them for it they're proud that they lasted that long. :-laf

Think someone woulda died if they pulled that crud around here.

Its a sad day. Stoy on the diesel stop who has stuck with ford through thick and thin. Is gonna dsb his third 6. 0. I feel sorry for this poor guy. The chances of getting 3 bummers. Slim to none. That is bad luck. This guy has been super cool about all the problems. Even so far as going back for two more trucks. I think 3 might be the charm for him. No more 6. 0s. I wouldnt wish that on anyone. Im watching his next move with keen interest.

Imagine this happening to you. Not cool.

That's insane, 3 trucks and he ain't figured out that there might be more to all of this than "Bad Luck". Maybe the engineering is flawed? Naw, Ford wouldn't do that!

Mike

Heck, it's like remarrying your ex-wife that screwed around on you while you were at work. And racked up a ton of debt your CCards. And you want her back because she looks good in a bikini! Go figure?

Mike

There is just something about a computer telling the engine what to do and when to do it is what I don't like . Just think about it look at all the computer viruses out there and how they screw every thing up now what would happen if that got into your truck maybe the Krauts at Daimler Chrysler have a computer hacker working for them to infect the competion's trucks. Maybe I'm just old school ;) :-laf

just thought i would add this in i was on my way to mobile yesterday and what do you know i see a ford pulling two boats off the side of the interstate with his hazards on i thought to myself bet that is a 6L well there it was the old chrome badge of death. well i went and picked up my load in mobile and low and behold 1 1/2 later there the old fellow was still on the side of the interstate. I felt bad he probably has no privilage to the internet to find out what a POS the 6L is and looks like always will be. In FORDS defense they build a good truck just have a POS deisel engine. SORRY guys this is the truth.
