just thought i would add this in i was on my way to mobile yesterday and what do you know i see a ford pulling two boats off the side of the interstate with his hazards on i thought to myself bet that is a 6L well there it was the old chrome badge of death. well i went and picked up my load in mobile and low and behold 1 1/2 later there the old fellow was still on the side of the interstate. I felt bad he probably has no privilage to the internet to find out what a POS the 6L is and looks like always will be. In FORDS defense they build a good truck just have a POS deisel engine. SORRY guys this is the truth.

Hehe... did you guys see the commercial where it was raining cats and dogs on a mountan pass... .

They zoom in on a Ford tow truck in front of a Mercedes or BMW (I forget).

The tow truck has his yellow highway bar all lit up. He proceeds to get out of the tow truck in his yellow rain coat and walks back to the car.

You here "Need some help?" or something of the sort. "Yes"

Then..... the guy gets into the car and they pull away.

That is a classic.

Yo Hoot, You are killing me stop it :-laf I saw it early one morning before my second cup of coffee, I was puzzled

But now I have seen the light :D

I like the "chrome badge of death"! I've always thought with the red printing, especially on the 05's, that it looked like a warning sticker... Caution, this vehicle contains a 6. 0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel, drive at your own risk!

YOU SHOULDN'T BAD MOUTH THE 6L POWER-STROKE

I READ SOMEWHERE THAT 80% OF ALL 6L POWER-STROKES EVER SOLD ARE STILL ON THE ROAD.

the other 20% made it home :D

I wonder what percentage of the 6. 0L are bought back and now belong to a 2nd owner, and that 2nd owner thinking they got a deal, when in reality they got a worked-over lemon. And while we're at it, how about trucks that are on their 3rd or even 4th owner, all buybacks? SAD!!!

Most of these 6. 0L I see in my area have 4" or bigger lifts on them. Guess they gotta make up for the lack of something else!!

Saw a guy yesterday driving a 03-04 black CC dually Torqslip. My engine was still cold but I wanted to smoke a little. So, he is in the left turn lane, I'm going straight, I see the opposite light turn yellow and then red, then get ready to go. He is waiting to see if anyone across the road is going straight, but they all turn. By the time he starts his left turn I am a truck length ahead, puffing a big black cloud. I don't think he liked it.

yea i have noticed that most fords around town have lifts on them... . i guess that goes along with the type of person that buys a Ford... . i am not knocking lifts i think they look cool but my truck has to work so having a 4" lift and a 30ft goosneck with a d3 cat behind me just doesnt add up. not to say that the old 7. 3 was not a work truck because it was. However things have changed with this 6L when i see a f450 loaded with tool hoist etc with the "chrome badge of death" 6L it makes me cringe. I can see it now right in the middle of a hurricane a bad misfire, injector failure, romp, turbo vein stuck, dead computer. Oh well Ford's gonna get a new engine from what i hear 6. 4L but it could be a rumor... . only time will tell.

That has to be without a doubt one of the best quotes ever :-laf :-laf

i have had to help the same 6. 0 twice. it seems when it get cold outside the truck even if shut off for about 10min after running does not want to restart. i have had to jump the same truck twice. i go out and my truck starts right up. they said they took it to the shop and was told that its getting colder outside and that it is normal for a diesel to not start when its cold. i have never had a problem (knock on wood).

I guess it was a matter of time. The NHSTA is investigating the 6. 0 for stalling. Guess they have had over 60 complaints. Highly unusual for such a new truck. So I was curious and pulled up dodges complaints. Found 4 during the same time period. 3 of em were for diesel fumes. Cant recall the 4th.

Im surprised the dead pedal hasnt gotten someone killed yet. Maybe it has but we havent heard about it yet because the owners didnt live to complain about it.

Dodge is under investigation for the 48re not going into park when it should. Also for stalling on the 98-02 24v. It must be the reverse to drive stall with winter fuel. What do you think about that?
