Can anyone help with a weight question?

I have been saying all along that the air bags were to far inboard for a HD pickup. Tommy Tippee! I will bet when you see it again they will be out where the 2500's air bags are and where traditional leaf springs are located. SNOKING

The bags are directly under the frame, and I believe the 2500 springs/bags are inboard of the frame.

So Ram is saying no truck campers on the 2500! Suspose they loaded one on a 3500 with air and found similar stability issues?

Remember 2003 and no rear sway bar? Dodge said because of wider frame rails and springs moving closer to wheels it was no longer necessary!

The whole deal of a HD that rides like a caddy may be a lot harder than one things. Think about the rancher that stacks hay bails on at 3500 dually 3 or 4' above cab level or a 11' camper. A narrow stance suspension spings or air bags are going to have a hard time. Time will tell if I am right. But I still go back to what they said in 2003 about moving spring out and no need for sway bar.

Regarding 2500 and its narrow stance of suspension, that makes for a better ride, allowing a wheel on one side to handle a bump better. Just do not put a tall load on it, as the guy with the 9' foot camper did and had major handling issues.

Therefore the 3500 air is on hold, as they have to be able to handle all uses! 3500 are not grocery getters! Snoking

Got all that... Why do you want the 3500 to have air spring placement like the 2500 then? It's visually narrower, and according to you inferior for a suspension design. I don't disagree that it could be wider, btw.

I'm just glad I didn't hold off for a air suspension 3500 last fall and decided to fix my truck instead. I like the design and location if the bags for the 3500, so I am curious what the holdup is.

And it would most likely work great for 65-75 percent of users, however they would not have control over those with tall loads and that would cause a liability issue.

The 2500 coils, air bags and 3500 air bags all seem to be in similar locations. So if the 2500 with a truck camper was a major issue, I am sure that is playing into this hold.

As a side line, I been think about put Trail Blazer coils in the raar of my Buick Rainier. Direct swap. Snoking

To me the 3500's bags look further outboard.

But if you think they are in the same location why do you make this comment?

"out where the 2500's air bags are"

What would that give you?

Regarding Buick rear air. Switching to trailblazer springs gets rid of the common air leak issue and cycling of the pump. Bag also fail at about the age of our SUV.

Back to the 3500, rear air is gone again from the build app on RAMTRUCKS. Was there a week or so ago. Site appears to be getting finalized for the 2015 builds.
