I made the 3k spring kit today and have made a couple of adjustments but still don't have it right so I thought I would get some experienced advice before I go any father. I think I had the springs too loose the first time because idle speed was down to about 500 RPM's and I had no bottom end, it didn't' start making power till about 1800-1900 rpm's and it would go to 3000 pretty easy. I came back and tightened the springs down 2 clicks, that brought the idle up to almost 1000 rpm's which I was able to adjust down to 750, and made the power band start around 1500-1600 rpm's. I am not getting the smoke like I was with the stock springs. The governor lever is striking the plate mid-way up on the bevel. I was hoping to keep the same power band that I had, only have it extended to about 300 rpm's . Could it be that I need to tighten the pre-load a couple of turns? TST recommends a #4 plate with this spring kit, I may need one to get it right. Any advice will be appreciated
