3rd Gen aftermarket injectors

Does anyone make "new" and not re-conditioned injectors for the 3rd gens? If so what are the prices, HP ratings and how hard was the install? If they are too high I might just upgrade to an HX-40 and AFE stage 2.

A new set of injectors through Cummins will run you ballpark $2900. As far as I know nobody makes an aftermarket unit, they just work over yours or sell you a worked over unit and take yours on exchange.

SRadke, I noticed your torque # of 841 lb/ft, are you running the stock clutch? What about your injectors, where did you get them and how much?

My torque number is a little low because I'm still running the stock clutch. I'm unable to use the high "te" settings of the TST box or I'll blow the clutch away. I'm looking at replacing it with a dual disk and that will probably happen within a couple months. At that point I should be near four digit's on torque. I'll send you a PM reguarding the injectors

I don't know if they are new or remans, but several folks on the Dodge forums are happy with the KAX injectors. They are suppose to keep your warranty intack. Some Dodge dealers sell them. I believe around $1200. I sure some can chim in with details. Their web page is www.kaxmotorsports.com. Good luck.

Haisley machine(www.haisleymachine.com)has them exchange for $800 for 40-60 hp with $600 core and $900 for custom built with $600 core. Janetty racing has them also, I think they are $800 exhange also.

I don't know of anyone selling a replacement injector. Injector upgrades and tips are available however. We offer to modify your stock injectors for additional HP, or sell you new tips that have been modified, that you can swap onto your bodies for the additional HP.

Thanks for the replies. Decisions, decisions, oh what will I do. Thanks for the pm SRadke. I tried their website a couple weeks ago but found nothing but info about the company. I have at least one bad injector, possibly 2-3 that are overfueling like crazy and the clouds of white smoke at idle are driving ME crazy. The trucks been in the drive since early Saturday afternoon with a deceased LP. Might be here today, hopefully. Am anxious to see how many houses in the neighborhood I can smoke out when she fires up. Man, after sitting 4 days I can only imagine the cloud of whitesmoke she gonna bellow out.

The vendors modifying the Bosch injectors seem to be doing so for HP gains.



What do these modifications do for reliability, considering that we have such a widespread injectors failure problem with the stock units?



What kind of warranty is offered on these modified units?

What actually happens to an injector that causes it to go bad??? I understand debris causing them to stick open can cause a burnt piston or a tip cracking causing poor fuel spray pattern which leads to rough idle and poor performance. What is actually happening to the injectors that cause them to get louder with age but the truck seems to run fine??? Is it something to do with the solenoid wearing to the point where tolerences change creating the noise???

i honestly dont know the website,hes a good friend of mine,he does lots of injectors for everybody,yes they are for 3rd gens,what do you want to know about dyno nums?

I talked with Brian and steve at BD they reported injector tips available soon for the 3rd gen trucks in 50,75 and 100hp the tips are EDM as well

I can't wait for the new stuff to hit the market, especially for the price you quoted me. I will however need to find which of my injectors are out in left field before adding new nozzles.

There is no pop test for the ISBe injectors. They are electrically fired. If the solenoid works, it works.
