3rd Gen transfer case question

What is the mechanical difference between the electronic shift into 4wd and the floor shift 4wd?



I'm coming from a 2nd Gen, and don't want to regret buying one or the other. Is one more advantageous?

Nope, got rid of that crap finallly. Front axle is solid and always engaged. No disconnects. Unitized wheel bearings same as the Danas.



There are couple hub conversions that will allow a disconect to be installed.

Oh great!! I had so much trouble with that junk on my second gen.

My truck also has the manual lever. I have read here that the electric engagement can have troubles. I put a set of lockout hubs on my truck and it made a difference in MPG
