PPI A600 & TRI-WAY ? Good or Bad application

Wow that stinks. I wonder if they only way to do it is to take it to a fabricator and have a specially-made ultra-tight 90 degree tube welded in place?

I painted it "Chrysler Industrial Red" then cleaned off the raised part, the uploaded pic looks funky, it did come out a nice even shinny red.

This is what I had done for the breather, its was a pretty tight 90 for the vent tube and the oil drain would just go around the back side and splice into the OEM drain tube.

How much meat is there in the boss for the elbow? could you machine the mounting surface down to make more room? in the 1st pic it looks like it is pretty thick and has room for some material to be removed.

I don't think I could get enough clearance machining it down. . I was just looking things over and see that I could drill and also tap the cover for a new vent exit on the same side the oil drain is on.

This would still allow for the use of the covers internal baffle and I would then use a straight fitting vs a 90 and go over to the A/C receiver dryer area and down.

If the covers internal baffle does not work as well as the OEM's external I could also add a puke tank in that area. After having it set on the motor I just have to have it!

Powder coated with polished letters would be much nicer.

Plan "B"

Ok. . on to plan "B"

I taped the original breather hole with an 18mm tap and screwed in an extra oil drain plug I had lying around that had been replaced with a Geno's magnetic type.

I then used an 11/64" drill and then a 1/2" npt tap on the other corner, then screwed in a 1/2"npt fitting that uses a 3/4" hose. This should work!

Looking good Matt! By the way, I saw an '06 last weekend with the hood up. Valve cover still looks like crapola, the worst ever. It's still taller in front than in the back, except the whole thing is plastic (plastic over aluminum I think).

Thanks, the breather exit change was pretty simple as was the plug.

I am so swamped at work its hard to find time to put it on, this time I will mount it for sure and have the camera. Also I will leave it on and run it to test the breather.

Later I think I will pull it again and have it powder coated and then polish the letters. That would make a real nice piece that is also easy to keep clean, plus its gonna need a different oil fill cap. . ideas??

Its On!

Here is a before shot, nothing real special there:

Here is the after and yes its operational. I am now driving it this way and will tow in a couple weeks to put the internal breather through more of a stress test. The Fill Cap is a "press-on" item from Geno's that goes over the top of the OEM fill cap, it fit nice and I may add color to the Ram Head.

The OEM VC had a spring in the cover that just sat on the rocker brace, not sure what its for, any ideas?

:--) That is the coolest thing I have ever seen. The factory fill cap fits in the hole of the new cover?

I connected 3/4" hose for the vent and just ran it over to the pass fender and down.
