3rd gen vs 2nd gen fuel add- 2 stroke oil

I use 1oz per gallon of 2stroke oil from(walmart supertech) in my 2nd gen truck

What are you guys using in your 3rd gens ? (mine '05)

Thought I read some ratio mix of 2 stroke oil and ATF.... what is the ATF for?

I used 2-stroke a few times and stopped, it doesn’t burn clean enough at low loads (idle).

The CP3 has proven to be a long lasting pump without any additives.

I did use Amsoil Diesel Concentrate on every tank with my 05, but never saw anything appreciable from the money spent. I no longer use it every tank. I will on occasion use something for Cetane or cold flow….but lube is the least of my concerns on a CP3.

Must have been the people on 'cummins diesel forum'

IIRC they think it cleans their injectors... which it does not.... hardly any detergent in ATF

ATF is designed not to burn, so I wouldn’t ever use it in the fuel.

In my 2006 5.9 I would use wally world 2 cycle oil never used ATF but do recall some used it along with MMO, if you live in an area that requires 5% Bio to be mixed into your fuel you will not need to add anything for extra too help lube your injectors...

Used ATF in motor oil to clean the tarnish deposits in a 289 motor before tear down to fix valve seals. That's the only thing other than acetone/ATF to help loosen bolts besides it's intended purpose.
