Just ordered 4" exhaust from Rip Rook. He was very nice to deal with. Very friendly and took all the time I wanted to talk. I'll post when I get it put on.

I was wondering if anyone has upgraded their H1C with H1E parts. 60mm wheel and compressor housing. I already changed mine from the stock 54 to the ported 56 and it made a noticeable difference. I can also recommend not running the 54mm wheel with the ported 56 housing. LOL It's not very efficient. :D

I don't want to spend the money for a hx35/40 hybrid right now, but the H1E upgrade seems fairly inexpensive.

Does anyone have the Holset part numbers for the H1E parts? The local turbo shop says they probably have the parts, but wanted the part numbers. Said he could only look them up by application.

Thanks,

Barry

I'm all about getting the best price possible, and doing things on the cheap. But I also feel the guys that have the upgrade kit took the time and effort to do the R&D, find out what worked and what didnt, and come up with the upgrade for us; I'd say suport them, even if you can get the parts cheaper locally. WHat about service after the sale? If you have any technical difficulties during the install/ R&R? If your H1C is in good shape, the $200 or so for the front half is a VERY good deal in terms of bang for buck. I plan to do that with one of my old H1Cs, put it on my pickup, and give Mom my PDR HX35, ported housing and all. Maybe next month, after I work some more.

We upgraded the WH1C in my son's 94 with a 60 mm "high flow" wheel from High Tech Turbo. For this upgrade we had to machine out a little relief in the backing plate of the turbo, but that's easy machining. HTT gives you a diagram with the dimension that you need to go to.

He also had to go to a different compressor housing, but there are other upgrades where you can use your stock housing.

Check out their web site and give them a call.

Sorry Daniel. I didn't mean to be unsupportive of the people doing R&D. I was just wondering if this was common knowledge. I don't mind supporting them as long as I know what they are doing. I do like to support local businesses when possible though.

After installing the new exhaust, all I can say is that if you don't have one, you need one. What A difference. My truck must have been choked. EGT's went down, boost went up and the sound is awesome. The exhaust was a breeze to install and it fit very well.

It has kind of a hollow metallic sound to it with some turbo noise. Rip supplied a Diamond Eye muffler. I really like the sound.

The kit I got came with a downpipe. I didn't order the 4" downpipe though. It has a 3" downpipe, and it changes to 4" right at the end of the downpipe (approx 36" downstream from the turbo)

My son put a Rip 4 " system in his 94 with the Diamond Eye muffler... it makes a very nice tone and it's not loud.

4 inch questions

is there a 4 inch with 4 inch out the turbo all the way

iam doing a 4 inch out new piers turbo

and will need a new 4 inch exaust

i also want one with the muffler option

with a 5 inch ricer tip

You can build your own in you have a welder and some time. I built stomps from the turbo back 4''. It just takes time but the overall gain is worth it.

The diamond eye setup is a easy install takes about 2 hours and is affordable we sell alot of these and have great feedback

Drives Mopars I bought a 4 inch exhaust from Rip and it is 4 inch from the turbo back. Rip uses a 2nd Gen down pipe and gives you some extra pieces to make it work. It will only fit the 2wd trucks I believe. Give him a call he can walk you through it, he did for me.

John :D :D
