I currently have a Bank's Stinger with a 3. 5" exhaust on my '97. I plan to upgrade to 350-400 hp with TST #10 plate, 4K GSK, AFC springs, and a PDR 35/40 turbo. I still have my cat on the Bank's 3. 5" exhaust. If I have to keep the cat due to annual inspections, would I gain any lower EGTs at top end pulling a 10K 5er with a 4" exhaust?

Do what I did. Gut the cat, modify the 3" end by replacing with a piece of 4" pipe. Put it back on.

The inspection tech even got a lower reading on the machine after I put my hollow cat back on after failing my last inspection the first time through due to missing cat. Go figure.

You'll be better off EGT-wise with the 4" exhaust with no restrictions.
