About right on the price, nate...
Nate, that's about ballpark. In Fallbrook, CA (north SD county) I paid $ 170 last month to have the stock pipe from cat back done in 4" - pipe (eliminating the muffler). I asked how much more to re-do the rest (and maybe losing the 'kitty') from turbo down, and he said: $ 220 Add it up: $ 390, bout what you were quoted.
BTW, the increase in performance is very significant, nice throaty sound, EGT's under control, usually less than 1000 even with full throttle.
You'll see more increase, but more noise if you totally straight pipe it. I've heard too many guys do that, then regret it. Even the shop owner advised against it - he said: "Cool sounding - then you get tired of the drone when you can't talk to anyone without yelling. "
He's right I think, they way I am now, on hills with a load, it's right on the edge of being a bit loud - but I do appreciate the increase in performance, with the BHAF being installed at the same time, I can't say exactly say how much is due to which fix.
Now it has the 'Sound of power' ! Good luck on what you decide to do,
