Need to get a set of Tires/Wheels from Ohio to Louisiana

Anybody ever seen one? I'm looking to get a 5th wheel toy hauler, but I have 4 quads to haul. I may end up towing two of them behind the toy hauler on another trailer, but it sure would be nice not to have to do that. Those Raptors with the double slides sure look nice, but I'll have to see what else is out there. Thanks for any input.

It just depends on how big you want to go, ours is 39 feet. It doesn't look like your trucks are going to have any problems towing one, we just ordered an 06 DRW after we put our combo on a scale. We could easily get 5 quads in ours with them sitting on the wheels (not tipping them up). Ours is not a garage model, but we don't get the gas smell some people complain about because I always turn off the fuel and run them out before loading. Holiday Rambler and Weekend Warrior both offer a double slide that doesn't have a divider this year if that is what you want. We love our Holiday Rambler, very well built and we haven't had any problems with it in 2 years.

I have a 33' Playmor. Hauling 4 Quads I suggest the 39', in the playmor model. I can easily fit 2 quads,16'zodiac/35hp motor. big grill and 5 coolers with misc. assorted camping gear. If only hauling quads, I can fit 3. Mine has a 10'6" garage.

Raptors are very nice, I love mine. I dont think I can fit 4 quads though. If you stand 2 of them up you could. There is a new Raptor with a 14' seperate garage you might want to look at. Or maybe a WW without a seperate garage. 2nd for checking on RV.net, lotsa toyhauler people on the toyhauler forum.

I have a mckenzie dune chaser 34ck it will hold 4 quads. I have had 2 quads and 4 dirt bikes in mine the quads were yamaha grizzlys with 2 full size bikes and 2 ttr 125 little bikes. they have a 38ck that will fit even more stuff. just look for toy haulers that dont have the garage option.

You're gonna want to look for a model that either by default has no vapor wall or by special order (option) has no vapor wall. Ours normally would have a vapor wall seperating the garage from the living area. I ordered without it and we have 16ft of open area to place anything we want. I used E-track rails with 15 feet of it on each outer wall and a 10 foot strip in the middle of the middle of the floor.

I've had as much as 3 dirt bikes and 3 quads in mine.

For example: The Raptor in a TT model has a large no vapor wall interior where as the 5th wheel version does not.

ON EDIT: and those Raptors are Ssweeeet!

Buddy's Holiday Rambler Next Level fits 4 quads easily. Does it all the time. Think it's 38' or 39'. Got one slide in the bedroom. I second the Raptor. Really nice trailer.

Heres my 36 Raptor...

The only way to get 4 quads in is to get one without the separater wall. Raptor has one that is almost 35' and full open to house all the toys. . The attachment pic of the floorplan.

I have the 36' and I fit 2 quads side by side. A sportsman and a Predator, both 500's. .

Here's a pic on the Keystone site that shows the long open box...

We will have a similar problem here in a couple years when the little ones start riding... . The problem with a big trailer is getting it into tight places... We have a friend with a raptor and he fights getting anywhee in the mountains... So what we are going to do is find a bumper pull toy hauler and put two quads in the trailr and two quads on the truck... . Will be awhile before we need anything like that but I think Sandpiper had a set up that was nice with a seperate room and a slide in the kitchen area... .

Tractorseller,

My buddy has a Toyhauler for sale! It's not a fifth wheel though, but it does hold 4 quad's. It's a 28' Keystone. It's a 2003 and like new. If your interested let me know. He live's in Colorado but said he would possibly deliver and will take offer's. He's in the Air Force and only used it for a short time while he was looking for a new house after a transfer from N. Carolina. I can give you his info if you want.

I think a 28' model is probably too small for my wife. Does it have any slides on it? I would gladly drive to Colorado for the right deal, but the law has been laid down to me about the slides :-laf .

Are there any models out there that you can tow a small 2-quad trailer behind without voiding the warranty on the frame? I've thought about that as well. I'd rather put them all inside though under lock and key. It seems that even with a vapor wall there should be something like a ramp on the front wall where you can get the first two semi-vertical to leave room for the second pair behind them. Even with a 12' garage I would think this might work. I don't know if the vapor wall would be strong enough to handle the added pressure and weight though  .

No I don't believe it does have any slide's. I just posted it tonight in the R. V. classified ad section which should be available tomorrow if you want to read more of the detail's. You can also e-mail me if you would like the owner's phone #. He said he really need's to get rid of it so he might give you a good deal. Also it would be a good excuse to go on a nice trip to the Rockie's if you can get free! :-laf My e-mail is through my profile. Thank's :)

you could build a small 4 post lift in the back of the toy hauller garage. put 2 in tie them down then lift them up and put the other 2 in.

my father has the mckenzie 38fks and the garage is a little over 8 foot tall at the back and taller in the front. it would work if your crafty. some of the other trailers I have looked at are like 10 ft tall in the back.

Most with a vapor wall and garage have a lowered ceiling becuase there is a bunk over the top from inside the RV section. the lift and possibly the standing on end would not work with these models.

here are a couple ideas. if you have adult and child size four wheelers you can strap boards across the racks and stack the child's ATV's on top. we do this for my brother with his sportman 500 and 50cc yamaha and works great.

Another point. lets be practical here, unless you keep the atvs inside while camping the vapor wall is not that Important. When we get to where we are going we kick out the bikes and quads and let down the sofa and dinette until its time to leave. turn the gas off while towing and store your gas cans in the truck bed or beside the RV when you make camp. pack it up if you leave camp for the day. Its not that hard to do.

this was problem we had when looking at a TH'r. the fifth wheel units are primarily designed for a mom and pop type camping with an ocassional guest. (one master bed/bath, one loft bed and then its sofa time)

I'd suggest you hit the RV shows and take a look at everything you can first. floor plan was the biggest topic for us to decide on. we have three young kids and needed to maximize both sleeping and gargo capacity. just wait until each one wants to bring a friend :D

We can haul 16ft of whatever you can fit into it and can sleep 10 people in beds and we have a ramp room to pick up 2 more person's sleeping capacity. That's 12 in beds. The bath is central to the camper, not in the master suite too.

(family of 5 +3 friends=8 add my brother and sister in-law, thier kid and 1 friend=12)

I'd say my biggest disadvantage is that I have a 30' bumper pull. but I havent not been able to go where I wanted yet.

we were just at the St louis RV show and the new 5th wheels are still the same problem just have 2 and 3 slides now. That garage kills it for large families!

there are plenty of toy haullers the dont have over head storage/bed in the garage, do a search online for floor plans. I have yet to see a rear slideout with out the seperate garage. the slide in the bedroom is really nice, and then no divider wall.

Well, I guess I'm off to the dealers and the RV shows. What I have now is a 660 Grizzly and 3 Bruin 350's. Now my wife wants a bigger quad, so there won't be any downsizing in my lifetime. I suppose I could pull a small 2-quad trailer behind the toy hauler but I wanted to stay away from that. I'll bet some manufacturer comes out with something soon that will work. With the huge popularity of these toyhaulers there has to be some pretty college-boy (or girl) engineer who comes up with a bright idea about how to get 4 quads in an 8X12 garage space. The people buying these things have kids who also have atv's and somebody will build something that works and is covered by a warranty. If I lived in Iran where all they want to build is nukes I guess I'd be up the creek :-laf .

My wife is tired of following me around in her Tahoe with the toy trailer. I don't blame her. Time to fix it. I'll post if I find something that works.
