I've got a buddy with a 2001 2500 QC SB Auto with 4" exhaust and an EZ on it. He would like to get close to 400 - 450 hp. He already plans on having sun coast do the transmission. I figured on putting in a Edge comp box, but don't know which injectors would be a good go or turbo choices. He does tow, right around 12-14K lbs, not not a ton of the time. Thanks!

Mach3 injectors, Drag Comp, B1-2 turbo, 4" exhaust, BHAF. I ran 434hp/975tq with my truck on 37" tires and 3. 54 gears last month. I tow 12k toybox. EGTs can get a bit high with the Comp on max, but I've been following some external wastegate threads lately and looks like I may gain a few HP and lose some temp with more tuning.

I'm in Sacto and I'll be at Imler's 4/16 if you or your buddy want to come ride/drive the truck. I also may be looking to go to a larger injector soon, only had these for 3months but I NEED MORE!

As Beast2B stated the Mach 3's would be nice. As for a turbo the B1-2 has a pretty small exhaust housing and he might do better going with a full B1. The B1-2 is is designed for an auto transmission with a tight TC, it spools up faster than a full B1. but, to do this it gives up some on the top end and backpressure is greater. If he really wants a good set he could go with a wastegated B1-2 and have a real nice setup.

Mach 2s and an HTB2 along with the comp will get you in 400-450 range easy. The HTB2 is an awesome towing turbo. Mach 3s will put you over 460 and closer to 500 with the same combo. I dynoed at 470, 468, 467 and the torque was in the 998 range on all 3 pulls. That was also with the wastegate set a little tight at 38psi. I think the truck had a little left in it with a little more boost. I prefer 45 pounds. You can also order the HTB2 with a 14cm exhaust housing instead of the 12cm.

I saw a truck dyno 401hp with MadECM, Mach4 and hybrid 35/40 turbo. I like the option of turning the fueling box on/off, so a comp or comparable box is beneficial. I have a MadECM on the way and I'll be fiddling with my external wastegate once the parts all arrive.

I agree with Jetpilot (LOTS of B-series turbo tweaking experience) that the B1 vs B1-2 would depend on your priorities: faster spool-up vs top end flow.

I will share the info with him in the morning. I'd love to be @ Imlers on the 16th, and hope to be there. I was supposed to leave here like 2 weeks ago. Don't you love it when you take a job in LA that is 30 days of 12's and after 49 days of 12's I wonder if I'll have to drag up to make May Madness? I already told em I ain't missing that! If I'm not home soon the house may be empty . . . . .

Bob, I saw somewhere else that you have a wastegate on your spinner. Is it an internal gate or external? What is your max boost set at? Adjustable regulator (if external)? ... and last (for now) have you tuned it on the dyno or by EGT for different max boost settings?

I know your time is limited these days, hope you get some play time soon!
