45-70 revolver anyone?

A friend of mine just bought one of them, made by magnum research. It is a blast to shoot, and, if you know what is coming, can easily be done one handed. He also has a 50 cal desert eagle semi auto pistol. Does anyone else on here get into very large pistols like those? I am thinking about getting a revolver, but they are not cheap.

Lee, I've seen them advertised, but never first hand. Quality built ? I would hope so with a 45-70 in the cylinder. What's the bbl. length ? I would think it would need to be quite long to take any advantage of that caliber, must be impressive to shoot at night. My experience with the handcannons is limited to the T/C Contender/Encore, they make some huge combo's for the T/C, but you are limited to single shot.

Friend of mine has a TC chambered in 375 JDJ, now that is a cannon.

The barrel length is 10 inches and it is very accurate. I haven't and I don't think he has shot it at night yet though. His dad tried getting off all five shot quickly by holding the trigger and just pulling the hammer. He did fine through the first four, but on the last shot the gun came up enough and the hammer stabbed his hand about an inch back from the knuckle. I'm sure that hurt. I have looked at the TC combos, but is I drop that much on a handgun right now I want more than one shot. Just the way I am.

I'll have to look around and see if I can find a 45-70 for I'd sure like to have one. Enjoy shooting my 45 Long Colt and have a lever action Marlin rifle to match. Kinda nice having the same caliber for both guns.

Check out the Taurus 454- it's a fairly reasonably priced big bore revolver.

I have a double barrel Derringer that shoots the . 45-70 in one barrel and . 410 shotgun in the other. It's got a pretty good kick to it , but I think It's a great defense gun. I shoot a . 44 Magnum Desert Eagle with a Holo sight in Magnum Handgun comp. matchs. The action of the automatic really tames the recoil so you can get back on target much faster.
