I'm still steamed over the oil pressure sending unit for a 99. $65 to $70 from Cummins and $305 from the dealer!!!!!! Needless to say, I try to get it from Cummins first and if all else fails, to the dealer. (And how about $125 for a carrier bearing!!!)

The litle yellow lock that holds in the bearing nut on the rear axle hub. It is a piece of scrap stamped steel cut and bent into a U to fit in there. its only $5 for one from my local dodge dealer.

$100 for the hitch tail end harness, about a foot long with the 7 pin connector. The funny things is, the complete front to end hitch harness for a truck that was sold with out it, is only $130, but its a different harness set up. I could have splice a harness from any other parts vendor and it would have been under $20, but no I wanted to keep my harness OEM, stupid me.

If things had not been resolved, I don't see why we couldn't have had one of those "XEROX Membership Drives" as outlined on the rear covers of the TDRs. Only this time, we could have printed the thread detailing the engine's failure and the "support" from the dealer. Then what do you think would have happened when these copies were distributed "Under the windshield wipers" of new trucks at the "dealers" ??

I have many dodge dealers around my house... . point me to the post, I can start dropping sheets tonight.

My dealer wants $500 for a trannie fluid/filter change extra $$$ to change the xfer case. I was also informed that entire warranty can be voided if OEM replacement parts are used. This is when they told me I need to replace the wiper blades. $35 a pair plus labor.

I let the dealer change the oil and filter they use Rotella T 15w40 and the Mopar filter unless I supply them with a Fleetguard Stratopore (have some let over from the 2000 truck) They are cheap, $35 with their filter $20 with mine. I will do the other fluid changes since the owners manual says if you don't tow or haul you don't need to change the front or rear diff or the transmission (6 speed) to be covered under the 7/70 drive train warranty. So I will do it and not tell them. Prices are high in Conn. My 2000 was an automatic and the dealer did the flush/fill and new filter on the transmission and also did the transfer case refill and flushed and filled the brake system (alway like to have this done at least every 2 years, brake fluid picks up moisture) all 3 for $127.

Ya know what they sell an NV4500 for??? $4800:--) I used to work for a local dealer and my price for an NV4500 was $2800:eek: Ya'll are right they are very very proud of there parts:confused:

Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

I just installed a new 3 piece exhaust manifold. A set of six gaskets from a local parts house was $9 and some change, tax and all. ONE gasket from Dodge dealer is $19 something + tax. Thats over $120. 00 per set. THATS INSANE!!!
