I can never find my threads . At the time I had the dtt transmission the one band adjustment they wanted 1/4 inch clearance and it’s been so long since I’ve had the pan off one I can’t remember what I did . My owners manual says 17 quarts I remember with torque converter with a drain and a double deep mag hi tech pan buying 7 gallons of oil to do the service how much do I need to service the transmission without draining the converter?

Been alot of years since I did mine.

Using that flush method where you pull the cooler line and run it into a 5gal bucket, I don't think with a stock pan it was over one 5 gallon bucket. Never recall stopping and changing out the bucket.

IMHO a waste of time NOT using the drain plug and dumping all the fluid. Even not having a drain plug it's EASY to get all the fluid out. I had the same combo and if I remember correctly it took around 16 quarts.

I get that, here is one way to find your stuff.

You can unchecked the Title box if you think it's not in a Title.

thanks I’m not computer savvy . I’m not sure that I will even mess with the band adjustment what happens if you back the screw our 2 and 15/16 or 2 13/16 doesn’t seem like a very good procedure to me and I’d rather not mess around with it . It is being a little slow to shift but it doesn’t slip under load no matter how heavy

12000 Mi trans fluid change?? Sounds unreal to me.
I change it about every 30-40k and do the adjustments at the same time.
Since we run ATF+4 now over the back then ATF+3 there is no need to waste that fluid.

I agree with Ozy ATS+4 is a really great fluid.

That 12k is probably a super expensive schedule to follow. Waste of resources and fluid.

It also looks to be that way going back to the 80's!

For the band, 72" lb, is just snugging up the band takes the slack out.

Then for the front, it's one full turn to 12 o'clock, then keep going and stop at 2 o'clock, just before the second full turn. That's close nuff.

The rear is 2 full turns out to 12 o'clock.

The bands wear, so it's good they are adjustable.

Mine were probably never adjusted, the unit was barely serviced from what I saw they probably just added to it when it leaked out. It had a rough life.

Thanks I’m pretty sure this transmission hasn’t had any better life than yours has had . I’m just wanting to do some maintenance while it’s on my mind.
