I have a question for you guys as to which way I need to go here. I plan on rebuilding my Transmission myself because I refuse to pay that much for someone else to do it. After doing an internet search on the forums I came up with the concensus that Revmax was a good place to get your parts from. My question is how built do I really need to go with this. My truck is stock 2001 2500 4x4 279,000 mi with a 4 in exhaust and Raptor lift pump. I have no plans on adding any power to it. It does just fine the way it is. My truck just a daily driver that I do plan on in the future to haul a 10k Camper 6 times a year no more then 200 miles.
I posted a couple weeks ago that my transmission was acting up shifting from 1-2 and now 3-4 is hesitant. It turned out to be that the bands are pretty much shot plus the transmission fluid is already smelling burnt and I just changed it out a couple weeks ago. I can't adjust the front band anymore and the back is not to far behind it. So a transmission rebuild is in my near future.
This is what I found on the Revmax web site.

3.47RE 375 HP Combo Rebuild Kit for $1799.00 plus $700.00 core charge
•Rebuild Kit

•Accumalator Housing

I am just not sure that I need to go with the full combo rebuild kit for my uses. I am on a limited budget and with Christmas coming up this is not a good time to be dropping $1799.00 on a rebuild kit alone when I don't race or do a lot of heavy towing. I looked on O'Rielly's and they have a deluxe rebuild kit for $263.99 by PowerTorque. What would you guys recommend for what I really need for a quality rebuild when I don't require a transmission that can take 700hp? Thanks.
