Dynojet Inertia Dyno

Dynomite Diesel Stage 4 Injectors, Sled Puller 66/14, Scheid's Laser Cut Delivery Valves, Goerend Brothers full billet shaft-equipped transmission with triple disk converter.

Turbo is wastegated too low for my tastes and only pushes 41-42lbs. . I think you have to darn near tear the turbo off to adjust the rod. .

Guy did not know how to properly load the truck, and did 3 runs and was going to hand me a slip saying 380, 650. . I said HEY WAIT A MINUTE. . she wasn't building any boost until 3500. . He called up Dynojet and they told him to run the truck in Overdrive, and that the drum he had was not the correct mass to load my truck. He basically floored it and let it go through the gears. The Dyno graph is the last 10 seconds of the run, he said they could not record more than 10 seconds at a time.

Special thanks to Travis G (TDR member) for helping through the late hours finishing up the turbo install, we finished the project thursday night. . if it weren't for him I'd still be messing with the oil drain tube and other assorted little stuff

Thanks!

Those numbers were put down with a BHAF, which I don't believe flows enough air for my uses.

I borrowed an AFE intake last night for a few minutes. . Truck seemed to pull a LOT harder. My AFE Stage 1 Racing Intake will be here tomorrow! Oo.

100 Plate. 180 pump :(

I hear ya on the 180 :( I have a 175 :{ but have some 191's on the way. I run a 100 also and have a PS 62/12 and 370's so Im like 1 step down from you the whole bombing process. I have yet to hit a dyno most likely in the spring when our TDR chapter has our dyno day... . Jim

Cool, keep us posted on what you put down!

I have enough fuel for now, it seems. Maybe a bit more boost will help up the numbers a bit more Oo.

Bobcat,

Congrats on the numbers :) How do you like that 66 in front of a 12 valve automatic?

Dave.

Thanks guys!

I am very impressed with how well this turbo spools. . and everybody told me it was going to be SOOO laggy.

As long as the transmission STARTS in first gear when you take off, that helps a LOT, also, you have to make it point to lock out overdrive in town or you'll smoke the town out.

The turbo is lit by 1800 or so RPM and shoots from 15 to 40PSI insanely fast! It will clear up my fuel the first 4/5's of the pedal, and then the last 1/5 pedal its a BLACKOUT.

I want to get the boost a little higher to see if I can burn a little more fuel. . but adjusting the wastegate looks like a nightmare with it on the truck. .

Not sure when I'll get the ambition to pull the turbo off to adjust the wastegate!

I'll see if I can get a video of a 0-60MPH run from a dead stop, and then a 0-60MPH boosted 4WD launch. (on a closed course of course).

With primitive timing methods (cell phone stop watch  ) We came up with a 0-60MPH time of 6. 12 using 4WD and boosting to about 22PSI.

tell me you've got 3. 54's and I'll be extatic :)

I'm going to have Dave build my converter around the sps66, and I'm also going to have the head fully ported w/ a trick valve job to move the surge line to the left and spool the turbo up quicker

No can do :( I have 4. 10s with 35's though. .

Good idea, thats what I did. I really like the 15 blade stator. Works very well.

Hey Bobcat,

Can you be more specific about the charger. I'm sure its really quick from 15-50 Oo. , but how quick is it from 0-10psi? The numbers are great, but how do you like normal driving, stop and go traffic? what about surge with a charger that size? i am getting a big single too, but i want it to act right when its NOT wide open. Let me know what you think.

Forrest,

i got 3. 54's ;)

The turbo will bark very easily and when you accelerate slowly and let it shift into OD around 40-47MPH it will sometimes bark badly.

I haven't had any major surge issues that I can hear yet. . BUT It may have surged for a moment when it hit 40PSI today.

Stop & Go traffic can be very smokey but you tend to adjust and relearn how to take off from a stop.

It can be driven so that you can spool it very similar to the stock charger once you get the hang of it, so 0-10 does happen fairly quickly as well.

I can still leave people WAY behind me from a stop light and not leave an obscene amount of smoke. . Its still fun to drive in town Oo.

*it will bark pretty bad when you let out of it when you see the cop parked on a side road* :-laf

I can deal w/ smoke as long as the thing spools halfway decent...

my biggest concern is spooling at altitude. I'm going to be running empty, and I can deal with a lot as far as drivability vs. horsepower, but I don't want it to be a total pig at altitude.

hopefully the head work will make it livable in the mountains.

I live at 300ft, but I see 10-12,000ft every summer for a few weeks

Garret I told you so. HA HA HA. Just kidding. Did I give you the impression that the turbo would be too laggy? I hope not, I have a slight larger HTT with a tighter stor and I really like it. I wouldn't be upset about the 180 pump yet. Concentrate on getting a Dana 80 back there.

LOL yep. . you told me. But I guess I'm better off running too low then too high right now. . I don't have to back out of the throttle to save the headgaskets this way :-laf

Nope, you didn't, but a few others I talked to said I wouldn't like it on the street.

I'm not worried about the 180 pump :) I have enough fuel for now, I can't come close to clearing up what I have  Oo.
