I now have 14,00 plus on my truck, sometimes pulling a 14,500 trailer ( an enclosed race car trailer w/ spare engines and parts); and we still regularly tow our 10,500 TT on camping trips. I can tell you that we have not had a single problem with the trans or with the truck. :D :DAND YES IT IS EASTER, SOOOOO BOCK BOCK, EASTER BUNNY!!

Any idea what happened?

10,000 Miles and no problems. I havent towed yet but I drive a lot of steep hills(the grade in Lewiston , ID) and haul a couple of dirt bikes sometimes.

Currently have 36,500 on her. No problems what so ever. In one period of 34 days delivering trailers all over the U. S. including British Columbia, CA. traveled just over 21K. Always in OD unless she starts shifting often in the Mtns. Trans. Temp shows the transmission runs cooler in OD when towing or in second lock up when she gets real steep. Trailer sizes run from 27 to 38 feet, tag alongs and 5ths.
