TC can you take some pics of the extra fuel filters that are supposed to be on the new trucks. Also do they look like they have adequately addressed the filtration issue in your mind or will you still be adding additional filters.

OK. . I will be installing Auxiliary lift and filtration before its undercoated, I will take pictures at that time, the factory additional filter is located just in front of the rear axle center frame, it looks just like the Factory D-Max filter. I have never put faith in any intank pump. The New auxiliary system will consist of 3rd Gen filter canister with dual Mounted Pump with in cab switch for both auxiliary pumps. In the event the intank fails I will just bypass the auxiliary filtering by turning 2 valves mounted on the frame making the Auxiliary filtering system the primary feed.

Here's a picture of pumps and canister.

Looks like the nozzles in the truck lanes are going to be out of the question using that new system.

I use the truck pumps quite a bit with the nozzle set on the first notch if the car Diesel pump has a line waiting..... unless I have the TDI, then I wait.

Time for another update on here.

Just did the TDR rally trip just shy of 1,900 miles, round trip. Average for the trip was 18. 2 MPG (real numbers hand calculated) not bad for a run with a average speed of 63 miles per hour. Truck ran great really a pleasure to drive. I think if they could make a retrofit kit for the after treatment system it would help with the around town MPGs and the low mile oil change intervals. All in all it's proving to be a really a great truck.

Two More... ..... The Auxiliary fuel heater is functional, Both Pumps have in cab Switch, The setup can either Filter or run Engine on 1 or 2 or 3 pumps, it Now has 3 fuel heaters and 3 filters, Not including the future transfer Tank Filter.

Ok, I know things were too good to be true... I got my first Check engine light but No codes. A quick trip to the dealer and it turns out the sensor on the upstream side of the cat was all sooted up. The shop Tec says that you use only compressed air to clean it. also cleaned the down stream sensor. Figures I ran reg diesel not my B20 that I normally run and it soots up my sensors. . Lol I guess these newer trucks are a learning experience. So add that to the maintance list clean the Cat sensors around 20,000 miles.....

28K and not even a fart on my 11 HO.

Got just 1000 towing miles on my 2013, So far I am very impressed, tows my LQ GN trailer much better than my HotRod 04 did. Ex brake modulates with the trans-engine very well on the steep mountain passes. Used about 2 gal DEF so far I have not hand checked the fuel. But the puter says 10. 8. That would be a bit better than the 04 if IF the computer is accurate.
