So does anybody know WHY the Cummins was never available in the light duty segment? If the barriers were broken in the MDT segment why not the light duty?

I think Dodge had an exclusive on it, or they did. I also seem to remember that Ford had control of the Dana axles with 3.73's and may be why Ram went to AAM.

IIRC, the Dana AAM deal was due to the renegotiation of parts contracts caused by the Daimler takeover.

The pick up market is heavy turf, and I think the emission regs and certifications are different.

Here's a couple shots of the Winslow Fire Department rescue. Wish I could have gotten better pics.

Ive seen my fair share of Blue Oval Emergency Rooms.. It so bad that we have amassed a network of wreckers and good Ford hospitals in our normally traveled work areas across Texas. Got at least 15-20 business cards from wrecker drivers and dealership service departments.
Seeing lots of oil and gas industry service trucks on Ram chassis these days. AEP Swepco looks like they are swapping their fleet over.

2 of 3 service rigs in the garages in my command were 2000 GMC K2500/ 6.5's. We know the story there, nothing wonderful BUT they gave great service aside from rear drum brake woes. They were just replaced with 2014 F250 6.7's. This what happens when you go with low bid!

Those are some sharp lookin rigs!

Happy Independence Day Wayne, looks like you guys are getting a little taste of Arthur. Are you anticipating any nasty weather? I saw what they have been forecasting but it doesn't look like your getting it yet by the pictures.

Same back JR! Just some rain, then brisk wind with wierd/ awesome/ bright skies. Reminded me of the end of Irene. Right now, real cool and nice. Gonna be excellent fireworks over the east river. They're actually shooting off some from the deck of the Brooklyn bridge.

around here in the Seattle area I have seen a bunch of tow rigs as well as heavy work trucks moving to the Ram C&C, the armored trucks on Ram chassis have been around here since the new body style that or Sprinters are the only two I really see.

Saw this outside a restaraunt we stopped at for lunch today.Have also noticed United Rentals Service trucks have been sporting a lot more Ram Chassis lately. They previously have run Fords as long as I have been in the industrial construction scene.

There is a very very large excavating company here who used to swear by Fords. I know the owners as they are good friends of the family and they would always make fun of Dodges. Now I see they are buying them. I talked to one of their mechanics and he told me they could not keep the newer Fords on the road, even the gassers. He said there was always something wrong with them, from electrical problems to them having a frame break on one. Now for them to switch to Rams that really says something about the 4th gen Ram trucks.

Looks like a 68 Ford Galaxie in last pix ahead of the Tow Truck

Yes, the Staten Island Kar Klub participates in this parade.

And the march of the Ram continues. There are so many out there working, that it's becoming a regular sighting. Of special note, I see some rebodies that are new ram c&c's with older bodies. Like they kicked the old truck out from under and slid in the Ram. I guess desperate times require desperate measures.
