If the crank case pressure exceeds the oil pressure the engine would be one massive oil leak
The Dealer has done a Oil Pressure Test and they said that they checked the Drain. They say that there are no Problems with Oil flow.
The Pac Brake uses a air cylinder and a remote mounted electric air compressor for Brake operation and it doubles as an onboard air source for airing up tires or other things a small reservoir of compressed air would be good for. It has come in handy several times.
As for Crank Case Back Pressure that is a new theory that is worth exploring.
I just had a new Jacobs Brake Installed by the Dealer and Turbo number 5 I will be installing a pressure guage on the Brake to see what kind of back pressure it creates. I am not fond of the noisy vacuum pump and the brake sure doesn't work like the Pac Brake did. I have to use the brakes more often.
I will be towing a load through mountain Grades this weekend and will have a better feel for the Brake then.
Dodge has all of my failed Turbos but the one on the truck now that is starting to leak I would love to have it analized if I knew where to send it
The Vacuum Pump makes a low hissing or ticking sound that varies with acceleration and deceleration the Brake is not engaged or on I noticed the new sound when I pulled out of the Dealer Drive Where it was installed.
If your turbo problem goes away, then the Pac brake was maybe closing off the exhaust completely giving you better braking, but was causing extreme back pressure blowing out the turbo seals. If thats the case, then you might want to check out the difference with someone that has the Pac Brake without blowing up turbo's very 5K miles and see if the brake performs as good as yours. I know that the EB closes off the exhaust but maybe it was completely closing when it shouldn't. Did you ever have a certified Pac Brake technician adjust it or at the very least look at it. I'm not talking about a self proclaimed expert, but an actual Pac Brake certified tech. Even though I'm a Jacob Brake fan, (because its factory authorized) I can't imagine that Pac Brake would make any money, or lose large sums, if there EB did this to every turbo diesel.I towed a load of Hay up to The Ranch this weekend (22,000 GVW) and used the Brake extensively I am not impressed at all with the Jake Brake the Pac Brake was a much better Brake. The Shifter Mounted Switch for the Jacobs Brake makes an annoying noise when the Truck is under Load and the Vacuum pump is still buzzing away. I will be installing a pressure Guage on the Brake this week
I use the Amsoil brand 15W-40 API CI-4+ Heavy Duty Diesel & Marine Engine oil with an Amsoil Full-Flow filter and an Amsoil By-Pass filter as well.hi which brand and type oil filter are you using ? and weight and brand oil ?
