Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 4wd indicator lamp not working?

I have a 99 3500 4x4 sport w/ 5sp. I can put the truck into 4x4 mode and it works fine but the light on the dash never illuminates. It also does not illuminate when I turn on the key before I start the truck. Could this indicate that it is simply a bad bulb?

Sometime ago I had some work done on the transmission. When I got the truck back from the dealer the 4XI4 lamp would not go on. I brought the truck back and they fixed the problem. I was told that it had to do with a vacuum line. I don't know what line it was, check under the truck it may have something to do with the vacuum line that activates the front axle.

There is a large block on top of the transfer case. It has 4 or 5 vacume lines in it, check and make sure that it is connected. Also, check that the two vacume lines are hooked up to the front axle.

Down on the front axle were your vacuum lines connect there are also two wires. Check to ensure that they are connected and not corroded.
