Can't help with pics. yet. Still waiting for it to rain so I won't be in the field to have a chance to install it. If you look at the pics. of the Big Exhaust system for the '03 exhaust, the main difference for the '94-02 vs. '03 is the downpipe. The tailpipe looks the same as what I have.
 
I got my 5",, the other day,,,,

It looked awsome in the drive when I got home.

Put it on last night. It took a little longer then I thought it would.

Most of the trouble was getting the old off. (found muffler cracked/broken anyway)

Two people would of been big help,, just for the angles of tailpipe and holding up in place.

STILL not to BAD,, NOTHING WRONG with the system,,, looks "GREAT",,I got it muffles... TO LOUD FOR ME,,(on the low R. P. M. 's) Will be putting one the DONALDSON soon.



Who ever suggested using the strap-clamps,,,,,,"GREAT IDEA,,,AN easier,,,Looks LIKE a PRO,,,did it.

ordered mine about 4 days ago, should be here on wensdays says ups. i got a 5" muffless and cant wait, i just hope that my truck is out of the dealer by then. it went in to get the a/c recharged (its getting hot over here in nor. cal. ) and they found a whole list of things wrong. both mirrors are getting replaced, they are loose, they limited slip was shot, the track arm is crap, four bad ball joints and a valve cover and rear main seal leak:mad: :mad: DAMN IT!!! i must keep bombing!! give me my truck back, NOW!!!!:{ on the plus side i talked them into putting in a detroit locker instead of a DC limited slip. i guess it pays to know the service manager, its amazing how far a couple of beers can get ya:D dont even have to remove the comp. i hope the straight 5" is loud, i love getting thoughs "what the hell is that" looks Oo. as i smoke on by, now to add the jake brake and i'll be set:D :D
 
Got mine reconfigured today. Cut the rest of the !@#$ baffle out of the M100465 Donaldson (do not get this muff--it is a silencer). Now some WHOOSH is back and I can leisurely walk around the truck after shut down and hear the last few turns of the turbo--GAWD a 40 would be great!



Had to cut a couple more inches out to get the spare clearance right.

It sure is! :--) :D :D With 4. 10's and hitting around 21-2200 rpms, it is about as loud as a Pete with 8" stacks pulling a grade. :--) I love driving on bridges that have a concrete wall. :D

a pete with 8"s, sweet!!! thats exactly what i was hoping for. only 24hrs till i can start putting it on:D :D i feel like i'm 8 yrs old and its Christmas eve
 
i put her on last night and have one thing to say about it "god damn that thing is HUGE !!" it went on fairly easy and sounds like music to my ears, now i got the noise to go with the smoke show. me so happy:D Oo. :D Oo.
 
Now you all got me itchin' for a 5" system, and I thought all I wanted was a little bitty 4"!! :confused: So now, here comes the questions. Wade, how much louder is the 5" than the 4"? I want to be sure to avoid drone or resonance that will drive me out of my skull at 2,000 to 2,200 R's.

Also looking to add a Power Puck or Edge chip, and Banks or Jacobs brake at the same time. Any recommendations or suggestions?

From all I can see my horsepower will not see any benefit from the 5", but it obviously sounds cool, and the giant sewerpipe hanging down will give me a place to hide from the wife. :eek:

I never ran a 4". I had a factory system less muffler when I changed over.



The straight 5" on my truck had one HELLUVA resonance at 2150 or so. With the muffler on there hasn't been the slightest hint of drone. My OEM setup had a slight 2000rpm drone.



I like it loud, but the straight was too much. So now I have a GUTTED 10x51 muffler on there. DON'T get a 10" diameter muffler, no matter how cheap it is. I posted what I think is optimum somewhere in this or the other 5" thread. Heck, it'd probably be fine with just a resonator.



I'm satisfied with it now and am on to bigger things, like a SBC OFE tomorrow and DYNO the 14th and then DD3's. Another dyno session. And as soon as I sell (fix it first) my Waggoneer I'll be buying a HX-40!:D :cool: :p



Then some more tires. I just don't know where the rubber goes. :rolleyes:

Well, this is my first post. All you guys had me itchin' to get one of these 5" exhausts from Bigexhaust.com. Holy crap :--) is that thing big!!!

I went with the stock system with muffler (ordered before I read Wade's message not to get the stock Donaldson) and it went in with no problems :)

It definitely is louder at low rpm, I can hear my turbo now and it has some kick to it! Highly recommend this system.

Now to convince the wife that I need to add a #11 TST plate! Oo.
 
5" Big Exhaust

:p Well, just got the Banks brake by UPS and the 5" Big Exhaust should be here in a day or 2. Just looking at the 4" downpipe that comes with the Banks is enough to scare a sane person:eek: but looks good to me!!



Really ready for the 5" so I can install it all at once. Will install the Banks electronics today, to prep the job. Should be FUN!:D
 
Could someone tell me what the price is for the 4" system w/ shipping and TDR discount? I emailed Big Exhaust but got no reply.
