5-speed shifting problems

Thanks for the replys to my post of 3-4 weeks ago about shifting problems. Changed to Amsoil 75W-90 gear lube and improvement was immediate. After about 300 miles the truck shifts like it did when new. This internet stuff is really something ain't it. Thanks again.

Can anyone give another suggestion on oil. I'd really like to use amsoil but can't get my hands on it in a short period of time. I need to change the transmission oil before I leave for MM on friday.

I ordered the amsoil gear lube from ALT with the regular shipping and it got to me in 4 business days. I can imagine if you really want it, you can get better shipping and have it to you before friday, easily.

I ordered some stuff on-line off the Amsoil.com website and had it at my door in 3-4 business days. I was amazed at how fast it showed up, I usually use snail mail and wait about 1 1/2 - 2wks for my order.

Aren't we suppost to use an oil that is only rated GL-4 in the NV4500? The AMSoil website says that their 75W-90 covers GL-2 through GL-5 grades. I thought that I read some time ago on this board that we should not be using any oil rated for GL-5 in the NV4500 ... aren't you flirting with disaster using something rated GL-5? #ad

Up here, the local Carquest & NAPA carry the Amsoil.
