Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 5 speed trans has no over drive ?

I was going thru the gears , & when I got into 5th / Over drive , there was no gear . There was no noise , just no gear . Has some one had this problem , & how would you repair ?

Jim, you lost your fifth gear nut!

Search back under, say, "fifth gear nut" and you will find more info than you can use. Best fix is the fully-splined mainshaft and updated nut but this is certainly not the cheapest way. :{

Very commom occurence. The nut comes off that holds the gear on. I drove mine 600 miles that way with no ill effects. There is a cheap way and a permanent fix that is more expensive. The cheap way will work but will eventually do it again. PM me if you need more info. A search will get you a lot of info also.
