You said this 5-26-2005 and you just received a beta
Well, I guess it could have been another 3 years, considering that, I would consider 29 days soon. :-laf
I must say something here. I understand that there is a lot of people that are disappointed and/or fed-up with Edge on the 555 Juice. Believe me, Tom Carlin, President of Edge knows that they blew it, but still has the desire to produce a Juice for the 555. Will they make any money on them this late in the game? Will it be enough to cover R&D? Who knows? Would the have made more money if they had gotten the Juice out in 2003 or 2004? Most definitely. Obviously some poor choices by Edge management concerning the 555 Juice were made in our eyes.
Edge has never at any time said they want to have the highest HP box, that I know of. To me, their goal has always been to have one of the most adjustable, reliable, smoothest performing box and the best customer service. For many, they have accomplished this. Me being one of them. I have owned every one of their 2nd Gen boxes that preformed great and have excellent service.
Many are comparing the Juice to the TST. The TST has always been a very radical box, and has many issues and still has. I don't believe that Edge built the Juice to see who is top HP dog.
I think Edge's goal is as I stated above and to also give us more usable features with the Attitude, like incorporating EGT's, Boost, Load, Torque converter lockup, transmission Slippage, Engine Temps, RPM's, Backdown, MPH, Barometer Pressure, Intake temperature, & Throttle Position. Will these be of value to everyone, probably not, but some will use them. The Attitude also has defueling for high EGT's, boost and transmission slippage according to the settings you want, so Edge has also built some safety features into it. It also keeps records of Maximum EGT's, Transmission slippage, RPM's, Engine Temps, and MPH. It also has a performance program where it will time your 0-60 MPH times and 1/4 mile times.
Edge designed the standard 555 Juice with Attitude for the common, everyday Joe with a maximum of 100 HP. I will verify that soon. I'm sure they were thinking about turbo's , transmission and clutches, and not putting their customers in a risky position of blowing up one of the above and having to purchase more upgrades to run the Juice. And then have an unhappy customer.
Then for us radical's who know the risk and have or are willing to make the performance enhancements to handle more HP, the HOT Juice will be available later. I think Edge is pretty smart with this, rather than taking TST position when the first PM came out and having numerous turbo, transmission and clutch failures.
Will Edge's Juice be totally free of problems? Probably not at first and then I'm sure you will still see some issues here and there, just like any electrical product. Will Edge stand behind them, you bet they will, just like always!
Most of us understand why some are discussed with Edge and the 555 Juice, they have voiced their opinions many times, which is their right, however other are looking for infor on this product, and being this tread is titled "555 Juice", maybe more Beta Testers could give their results with the 555 Juice for those interested.
I also want to state for the record, I am not an employee of Edge Products and have absolutely no financial or other ties to Edge Products, I was just chosen to be a Beta Tester by them.
I appologize for this being so long and I hope I haven't affended anyone. If so, flame away.
