i'm three months in and the rig finally runs ands moves... the 92 cummins fired right up... . mounting the engine into the 59 frame was rather easy after boxing the frame and using the 92 crossmember... . the nv4500 cost more than I thought it would, wish i knew the bellhousing and adapter were different before buying the 4500 all I have to say is thank god for ebay($125 for bellhousing and adapter) . for your info a getrag vintage flywheel will work with a thick adapter and starter. I had to fab every crossmember from the front bumper to just forward of the rearend I thought i had it handled till I tried to morph 98 4" EXH system into the confined space. Getting a hydroboost and the hyd clutch modified onto the stock linkage was a fun few days. getting a jeep steering box and idittit column made life simple(idittit columns are a quality product). I had to go to the local peterbuild store and dig thru all their charged air stuff to get the AFE air cleaner routed to the HY35 turbo(got it cheap).
The only thing the stock computer does is heat up the grid I'm using the crank sensor and inlet temp sensor and it sems to work great. The remote regulator charges @ 14. 1 volts into dual redtop optimas. Im using the factory dash for temp and oil pressure, voltage, boost and pyro are remote gauging.
I have to get shocks mounted, brakes done and spend a day getting a few minor wiring issues dealt with than I get to run it put in the big injectors and crank up the pump..... the pics I have a few weeks old but will have some better pics tomorow
