After checking out the Dodge.com I belive all the to be a typo or a website error. If you look at the 07 2500 on the build your own scroll down menu (which shouldn't even be available anymore) it say exactly the same thing as the 08 2500 menu when you look at the 6. 7 details. I figure they did the website before the 6. 7s were available yet (hence the "late availabilty") before they knew what the output was going to be. If you recall when the 6. 7 was first mentioned for the pickups most thought it was going to be rated at 325. My 2cents.

it would not be illegal if it had the new emissions on it

Sorta true, but if you want to be that picky about it, just bolting a nOX absorber, DPF and a cat, the 325HP 5. 9 will not meet emissions.

It took alot more than just bolting up a DPF in the exhaust to make the 6. 7 meet the '10 emissions.

It would also end up a BIT below 325hp :-laf

Did not realize that, guess you learn something every day.

Yah, that's ok. It's the same reason that you can't go "back", or "reverse flash" an ECM.

Also, to be nit picky about the emissions thing, your truck came from the factory "certified" and if you put any aftermarket part that has not been "certified" (K&N, some Edge and Banks products are "certified") your truck is no longer EPA compliant, and you are in violation of the law just the same as if you were to remove the catalytic converter, or put a "P-pump" on a new motor, so in essence, the EPA won't care if you are in a "little" violation, or a "big" violation, the fees are the same, just that, one way you are going to be easier to "pick out".

 Sorry to get so far off track.

Bob,

From what I've seen if you were to add all the "emissions" stuff on a 5. 9, you would loose about 50RWHP.

Yea if I ever lost one of my 5. 9's I would be very tempted to replace it with a 6. 7(sans junk). There is no replacement for displacement Oo.
