Seems to be some confusion on this authentic fuel filter coming from amazon, one review had it being a counterfeit filter, he had them in a picture side by side one with the green membrane inside, claiming it was the OE that just came out of his truck , the other he had just bought on Amazon with the white membrane inside. I ordered a set about a week ago , the one in question having the white membrane inside , after reading that review I sent it back.

Today stopped by the local Ram dealer ,and asked the parts guy if he would show me that filter , low ,and behold it had the white membrane inside , which the review was claiming it to be a counterfeit , so now not sure where this green membrane comes into play ,is this white membrane just a change in the filter ? The green membrane being an older version of the same filter ? The review claimed that it was identical ,markings, box ,everything except it didn't have the green membrane like the one that came out of his truck being the original fuel filter from the factory.

This one I sent back, was in the same box they always come in , shrink wrap around the filter ,a green mark on the shrink wrap like they always have. I am pretty sure I sent back an authentic Mopar filter .

One other point the dates on the two filters that I bought from Amazon front ,and back were identical to the two the parts guy showed me at my local Ram dealer . The back filter both had 10/08/21, that one I kept , the one I sent back the front filter was 11/17/12, same as the dealer ???. Anybody run across these two different color membranes that are supposedly both OE ??

Also on Amazon there are several dealers that sell these filters ,some have the picture ,and some will have that green membrane ,some will have the white . Some will not show the inside of it , all with the same Mopar part #. I have bought a set of these filters from Amazon ,my records show 11 times ,never gave it a thought ,they always came in the same packaging etc ,and have never had an issue with them . Not always from the same Amazon source , some have been a Ram dealership ,but not always .

I would think if they are in a Mopar box they would be legit. I just looked at my stock that I ordered from Amazon, here are some pic's.

12 filters over 6 years all mopar ,filter media has been white

They are mostly definitely green in some pictures as you referenced , have seen the same on Amazon as said ,as well as white . Dealers were white ,no green. There has to be some explanation if both are Authentic Mopar. Maybe coming from different plants ,same specs . The guy did mention nano on the green one on the review .

left bought from a AMAZON MOPAR dealer. Right from local dealer. Exactly the same.

This guy on the review claimed the same thing, identical ,box ,markings etc ,other then the color of the inside membrane . Couldn't tell the difference from the outside ,but claimed the white was a counterfeit , take it for what it's worth ,but he had them side by side in the review on Amazon . Its there for anyone to look at ,and watch the video .

They are both white with date codes of 11/17/12.

Thanks ,same as dealer as said, and the one on Amazon . I think anyone that's read this thread , or replied ,go on amazon ,and put in the part # ,and one of those vendors listed will have that review ,and video. If you wouldn't mind ,could you post a picture of the inside of that filter, thanks

This question comes up from time to time. This guy emailed cummins and the picture is of his conversation. No more green on the insides of the filter, unless you get some new old stock.

Well that solves that ,thanks, had to be some explanation. Hopefully that guy has got it figured out by now, especially if he can't find that green inside . That review was last May, so not that long ago.

The inside of my MOPAR filter is white, bought from Geno’s.

Can't get them there, backordered . I believe I mentioned the dealer told me today ,they were on backorder for awhile there .

There is about half dozen vendors on Amazon selling them, along with a bunch of aftermarket .

I did have to leave this last few filters on backordered for a few weeks, but now I’m a couple changes ahead.

If somebody wanted to make fake filters, and make them look just like the originals, and expect to sell a lot of them, why would they make the membrane a completely different color ?
