Hello all, hoping for some help here. I have done some searching for my answer but just can't find it.
I have a 2007. 5 Dodge Ram 2500 with the above transmission.
My question is about the shifting points and when the trans should shift. Currently mine is shifting and is running in 6th gear at about 42 mph.
When I start from dead still and not dogging the truck it shifts really fast through the gears. I can run at 30 mph in 5th gear locked.
It seems like it is shifting really fast through the gears.
When shifting from drive to reverse there is a popping noise like it is being forced into gear and the when going from higher speeds to lower the truck doesn't seem to down shift and I have to use either the exhaust brake or all pedal to get the truck slowed down.
I am unsure if the TC is going or the Trans but want some information so I kind of know what to expect.
The reason I am asking is because the truck doesn't seem to run the same as when I got it.
I have changed the oil and both filters in transmission.
I have had it to the dealership a few times and they tell me nothing is wrong run it till it dies. Which is great for them cause they don't have to pay for it when it breaks.
Any insight would be great.
