Yeah, it's for rust removal and if you leave it long enough in there it will remove paint as well.

I just got my 6BT crammed into my 87 chevy crew cab. I used a chevy 6. 2 L diesel radiator and by looking at your pictures I am going to venture to say you need to push that engine back untill it hits the firewall and decide where you want to beat it with a hammer or cut out and reform it. I had to install a 2 inch bodylift even after I modified the crossmember that sits underneath the engine. Because I was in a hurry and didn't want to mess arround with the firewall right now. The back of the head is about 1/2" from the pinch seam on the firewall and the fan is about 1" from the radiator. It's a tight fit in there! Good luck!
By the way, looks like your doing an excellent job on your engine. I ballenced mine too.![]()

Timo: I wasn't being critical of your work... I was just wondering how you did it. I saw the marks from what I thought was a bench vise and figured that's what you used.
That's a good tip for bending metal without big, expensive hardware!
Keep up the great work!!!

REakin, what are you using for your intercooler in that '87 Chevy?
