Was reading on the news that RAM and Cummins have upped the power ratings to 385/900 for 2016. And they have upped the GCWR to 39,100. I am waiting for the over 400/1000 that may come in couple years. Rear end goes from 12 bolts holding the ring gear to 16. Look out Ford and GM

Doesn't mean much if its only available while driving above 50mph and in 6th gear. LOL!

The beautiful thing about gearing is that you don't need it at low speeds and low gears. 4th gear at 600 lb/ft of managed torque is still more than 900 lb/ft in 6th gear at the rear wheels. I would guess that full power is available in 3rd-6th, maybe 4th-6th at the very least.

So yeah I think it means a LOT even with torque management. If you want 900 lb/ft from a LD or MD drivetrain you are going to have to have torque management, it's just the simple fact of life.

I am more curious about the horsepower numbers as the '15 Cummins is lowest on hp of the big three. More torque means more hp at the most used rpms but more peak hp has more hill speed potential... before anyone says anything I am not saying we need to tow faster or that the current 6.7 is weak simply an observation on horsepower as it is a very important number as well especially since you cannot multiply hp thru gearing.

I found out in IL with my new camper I would need a different driver licensee if I was to get one of the newer Rams. According to the SEC of State office I would need a non-CDL class A to tow a combined GCRW of 26,001 lbs. The new Ram pick-up trucks are rated at 10,000 GVWR 3/4 ton and 11,100 for the 1 ton trucks, and my trailer is rated at GCRW 16,173 LBS. Oh will I guess I will just have to stay with my 08 for now.

I guess I will just have to live with it! I was Hoping for $75 Rusty!

I guess I should tow the new MS before selling just so I have something to compare the 900TQ to.
